Are you still running it with helpers out on the back, even with the drop plate?

Dropping Bombs not Dubs :ninja:

Helpers are staying out but the main spring is wound right up :-)

haha cheers boys. I made a right boo boo of the arches- I'm going to smooth them out and blow the paint back in, I quite like the new shape of them :)

Well, just needs the last few tweaks before the arches are ready for a skim of filler and paint :) Thought i'd do a before and after of the rear end-

Looks good so far...

You gonna keep the arch line or smooth it?

Looks lower and wider :)

Love it!

fuckk! looks sick man 8-)

Good work ;d

Epic win. More behind shots please ;)

I've described my arch line to being similar to that of britney spears Labia. lmao!! i'm stripping the paint off the arches and smoothing them propperly to re-paint them. They were massacred trying to flair them - No scrap that, I massacred them when I used an angle grinder to cut the inner lips out when i painted the car!! Trying to flair one ply of arch when the inner one is no longer attached is near impossible, I need to tiger seal the inner and outer arches together before I can drive the thing! ANNND sort the bumper out to fit propperly again, it's been so much bashing and pulling, i'm so heavy handed with stuff it's untrue :-/ Been doing loads to the inside too... :-)

As requested-

Calm down jake haha-

Cheers poloman- In hindsight I should have waited for some help.

Looks very nice mate, heatgun and rubber mallet I've found to be a very good way of doing it. Using a rubber mallet you're less Likely to chip/crack the paint.

Looks good :)

And a smoothed 8n is a good shout, I have one :)

Sold!

Get the gf to order me a set next week.

Thanks very much Doyler- I love the recess in the 8v. Always of the opinion of never to smooth bumpers, as an unsmoothed bumper will never look dated, ace to see what it would look like though!

Chris.

your very welcome

So Here i am. Stuck in the middle of a project, Following wills boo boo with his wideboy project i seem to be in two minds with this car!

Baaaaaasically- I've stayed at uni for months with this thing rotting on the drive haha! The inner and outer arches are seperated and rolled BUT I don't like the 'rolled out' wheel look now that i've done it. I'm thining of cutting the arches off a scrap 6n and welding them on to this, there by making the arches wider with an OEM feel...

Getting bored of it now, It's ran out of tax, mot and i'm no longer insured. I'm planning to start a beetle project in November but I'm not sure what to do with this in the mean time. I might be getting a job working for monster energy so I might be able to afford to get this back on the road sooner then i think... In the mean time i'm just going to slowly keep working at it as a project (to be honest the best thing that could happen to it!) For the mean time it will sit gathering surface rust for a week or so.

Oh and it's flared this much because my plan it to fully tuck tyre and maybe into Rim realms depending on how low I run the front- thinking along the 'shopping trolley' projects kind of drop :)
