I'm thinking how I could possibly fabricate something like this... Any ideas anyone?

What did you use on the arches out of curiosity?

In my defence I didn't have a clue what I was doing and the inner and outer arches were never attached so when i rolled it they started to wibble wobble.

In other words i have no excuse and i've completely ballsed it up and not driven my car in ages. although I fucked it up because i was rushing it and paid the price. I'd like to think the rest of the build proves i'm not a complete retard but we all have out moments! it looks wank at the momentI think what I'm trying to say is help haha. any thoughts anyone?

I have done a few simalier jobs like that in work and I have also seen the build for that golf and to be honest if I was going to do a wide arch it would the only way till to it

It was done be cuttin along the body line on the arch then the arch is pulled back then weld to suit then the bumpers are cut to match it's kinda hard till explain with out pics I will post some 2 morrow when am on the laptop

How much would a body shop cost to do it do you recon mate? I love DIY asethetics, but a project like this would need a knowing eye/hand cast over it I recon-

I do custom body work do stuff this all the time most body shop will vary ( if they will even take it on ) they would probly charger by the hr dnt know what the rate is over your parts price around but make sure there fit to do the job and that they will do it proply yeah you shouldn't take it on unless you know what your at buddy tbh theres a fare bit of wrk involed but if you think you up to it wrk away but you DON'T wanta fuck it up

But I wil posts pictures up in moring of how it's done and you can go form there

we've done it to mk1's and stuff with their boxier rear arches but never this smoothed type. yeah it literally just needs to only about 10mm wider then standard i think, the rolling i've done so far needs to go, they were MASHED to start with.

Well if you can and use a welder and can shape filler proply then that's half the battle we get the pics up damarra

I'm living in liverpool with my GF dude restoring her house- to be honest I've not sure if i'm comming to the conclusion someone else might have more fun finishing this project- especially as i'm planning to go aircooled in November

rivet the arches together aswell as tiger seal! haha it going to look errrrm.... well crap but least it will hold! my logic says that if a cars stanced it doesn't matter how crap the rest looks haha. really don't have the time or what ever to do it propperly so i'll just do it to get it driving, never know... could look kind of alright ha!
