Part number for Starter Motor?

Hello, I'm a self confessed car fixing novice and this is probably a silly question but the starter motor recently failed on my car (1997 diesel polo 1.9L CL)

When I looked for replacements on first choice they make it clear they need a part number to be certain they have the right part, however the part number on the starter is impossible to distinguish.

Does anybody know an alternate way to obtain the number? I read somewhere that both 1.9L polo's and golf's use the same starter?

Can anybody help?
