If we go to a different country, we have to abide by their rules, regs and laws. when they come over here (any people not born in UK) they bring their own and we have to live by theirs - that i think is wrong.

I don't really agree with the ban, but it does sometimes seem like there should be more effort to integrate within the culture of the country you are living in. I often find myself thinking along the lines of what Duey is getting at, but then I suppose it's different if you're on holiday rather than living there - I've not been in another country for longer than 3 weeks so can't really say how I'd react to being there for a year, would I still politely follow their customs despite possibly disagreeing with them? I'd like to think so but then I really couldn't say...

The thing that gets to me is the obvious use of playing the race card in order to gain something, I won't say where they were from as it isn't important, but a non-UK national came into work the other day and started mouthing off at the gal on customer services because we wouldn't refund her - she had no receipt, or tags and the item looked worn/damaged, poor girl had only been on there for a week so called a supervisor, english woman came along and explained the store policy again etc etc, suddenly out of nowhere the customer accuses them of racism and asked to see the duty manager... so they call him, and down he comes, customer then sees that the manager is of the same background as her and like a flick of a switch immediately changes her tune, apologies and leaves.

Okay I'm not so fussed about it been banned, religious clothing or not people can wear what they please! Even if it is a fatty wearing just leggings but as mentioned where its a security risk it should be removed. A woman at my aunts place (the tax office) would not take hers off for the guard, yet her photo was clearly displayed on her card....turned out it was a relatvie covering the shift just posing as this other woman.

These are the issues i see with it, that and the lack of intergration with any islamic community and their surroundings. Come to Bradford and just take a look, there are clear splits between Islamic communitys and the rest of the area.

Take Manningham for example, the entire are is an Isamic populated area that drove out all other buisnesses and people around it. The lack of respect to the area and the natives is what bothers me in these parts.

Many Shopping centres have a no hoodie/hat/face covering items policy, I used to work at a Superdrug in a shopping centre that had the rule and one week we were made to enforce it, I refused point blank, the amount of grief fellow staff got was funny, most youngsters were fine but christfuck the old ladies really lost there tempers.

You are though.. Some are 3rd and 4th generation Britons that still decide to behave like this. Look at the London Bombings, weren't they born in England.. I remember some lived around the corner from my mate in Leeds..

They have the right though. I do not agree with it at all and it's highly offensive to do that to the country which raised you. Especially since the solders they hate upon died effectively so their ancestors could move to England. That's what sickens me. To be fair, the ban isn't against 'Muslim Burkas', it's against full-face coverings in public which is a security issue.

I think the people protesting against the ban need to realise that France and similar EU countries follow their National Law, whereas a lot of middle-eastern countries seem to primarily follow Religious Law.

Same as in the UK, it's illegal to carry a knife or bladed item in public. Full stop. So does that mean it's racist to stop (forgive my ignorance for not knowing which exact religion..) certain religions carrying one of those gold knives? Not at all.

Personally I am anti-religion. I can't stand it.. but as long as it doesn't directly affect me then I don't let it bother me.

However I firmly believe that people (of any religion or ethnic group) should fully respect the laws and customs of the country they're in. That's not a difficult request at all.

I did read an interesting article though, about the difference between Muslims and Islamists..

Muslims practice their religion for personal reasons, just like the majority of Christians, Sikhs, Hindus etc..

Whereas Islamists use Islam not as a religion, but as a political ideology, which does make sense..
