howdy all i have recently brought a 6n and noticed that my central locking pump is buzzing for about 20-30 seconds after locking/unlocking is this normal?

i have also noticed today that the locks taken a few seconds longer to come up and go down, the previos owner has given me a new central locking pump but i was wondering if the pump would be coded or anything or is it a straight plu and itl work??? also there is a aftermarket alarm fitted (make unknown) nowires going to pump so gues this dosent affect it?

any help appreciated
