To be honest, I'm sure out country wastes more than 50mil a year on plenty of things with less use than them, so I don't mind if they stay.

Worst case, the Prince's Trust and Duke of Edinburgh schemes have their uses.

From what I've read, a lot of what the Duchy of Cornwall makes goes to Charity, but then that was reading a pot of Duchy Jam when I was bored ****less at work

The holiday's a pain in the arse though, it's alright if you've got a 9-5 job, but those of us who don't get paid if we don't go to work and don't get any extra for Bank Holidays lose out either way.

There are 62 million people in the UK so by your figures it costs each person around 67p a year to keep the Royal Family.

not my figures found them on wiki

do you give money away to random people then?

sorry but these are my opinions and as said before in other posts, opinions count for nothing in this world if i dont agree with something il say it thats all, just like anyone else would.

I'm 27 struggle my arse off for my family, do i get money thrown my way for something i dont earn the right to have? no!

do other people pay for my petrol at a petrol station or pay for my shopping bill no!

i gotta earn my money by working hard for it same as others.

government par example threats to stop peoples benefits if they dont get a job? where are the jobs? I'm sure half people would love a job but there isnt none, does the queen work? no! lives off massive hand outs from our hard work.

Rant over

I'm sorry but... throwing figures around like that mean nothing. The Royal Family have a larger fan base around the rest of the world then they do here and, believe it or not, millions of people travel to see them and buy from UK shops while they are here too.

Now I'm no expert but if you know anything at all about economics you'll know the Royal Family do a lot more then just take money from us.

Plus, without a throne fuck knows what nationality we would all have been born as.

P.S. Just to add to what you said there about working hard by the way, I guess you are implying the Royal Family are born into wealth? So if you come across millions, you'd not allow your children some of that wealth? I think your just not very well educated about what the Monarchy actually do for this country.

We all give money to random people, your income tax funds people of benefits.. but that's another argument..

I respect your opinion though..

But the equivalent of 67p, as inaccurate as that figure may be...

I'd happily pay it each year. If not for our Monarchy, our country probably wouldn't exist.

id rather buy my kids some sweets for their hard earned winding dad up moments!

i apologise it does wind me up though! i promise to make no further outbursts regarding money, tax, religion or royals in the future! :?

anyway its sunny outside so I'm happy 8-)

Neither here nor there tbh, is it next Friday it's on?

I don't get a day off work, a day off college or a day to get mashed, just another day for me.

Just another day for most people round here, some misguided individuals at one end of the street wanted a street party before being told by the police they wernt allowed to use or block the road.

I was sick of it a week after the engagement, then thankfully watching Libyans towing AA Guns with Fiat panda's took the attention away for a bit, but the last two weeks has been unbearable.

Chance would be a fine thing..... self employed and all that. :-(

I'm all for it 2bh for a number of reasons... it is gunna be one of those things that some people look back on and remember which is always nice.

The main reason though is that (from what i can understand from previous royal shindigs etc) it seems to make the majority of the people just chill the fuck out for a bit.

I'm sick of being looked at/treated like a piece of shit for wanting to have a drink, play loud music and have a good time by the general public. This 12 day holiday thing SHOULD chill things out a bit... which is something i am all for. Too many uptight cnuts in this world already!

Everyone needs to lighten up and enjoy the weekend in the sun! Shit, i bet half the reason people are moaning is because its "for the royal wedding". If they announced that times had been tough and as the weather looked good most people get friday off then everyone would be buzzing about it!

Plus even if you don't like the Royals, would you rather have the news covered with a British Royal wedding or a bunch of idiots in the middle east fighting each other?

Its just the Hype of it thats pissed off most people as its literally on every single News bulletin and every single paper every day.

The whole point of this is to make people forget that yet again our armed forces are being used in a war that has nothing to do with Britain.

67 pence per year is better than the £60 a year i donate to the RNLI out of my pay packet

(don't get wrong i'm not complaining just saying the RNLI are a bigger drain on my cash than lizzy, phil, chazza and the gang

I think Prince Phillip should be let out on his own more often, the stuff hes come out with down the years is true comedy gold.

To Elton John after hearing Elton had sold his Gold Aston Martin

“Oh, it’s you that owns that ghastly car – we often see it when driving to Windsor Castle.”

If you see a man opening a car door for a woman, it means one of two things: it’s either a new woman or a new car!

The problem with London is the tourists. They cause the congestion. If we could just stop tourism, we could stop the congestion.

"If it doesn't fart or eat hay, she isn't interested." -- Description of his daughter, Princess Anne.

Wonder what he will come out with at the wedding

would you really want our government to be in COMPLETE control of our country?

If your thinking 'yes' then tbh, you completely retarded

How about getting royally drunk , with the royal wedding drinking game!

Facebook page

Short hand rules.

1. Queen on screen – drink.

2.Harry on screen – Nazi salute, last player to do so, 5f of drink.

3.Elton John – last play to say “candle in the wind” drink 5f.

4.Any past royal wedding flashbacks, drink 3f.

5.national anthem playing – everyone stood up drinking

6.When the word “future” is mentioned, add 1 finger worth to the Future Kings Cup

(1 person at a time, in a clockwise direction)

7.Last person to say “god save our future king” after pronounces man and wife must down the kings cup.

8.Whenever Prince Phillip is shown independent of the queen, last player to shout “bloody foreigners” in his accent must drink 3f.

9.David Cameron on screen – First player to shout “nice person” makes a rule.

10.Union Flag on screen – first player to shout “rule Britannia” can bestow 4f worth of drink onto anyone

Couldn't give a shit, so what we have a royal family... for what? Nothing.

At the very least, it's an excuse to get wasted....

He is worth every penny.

I dont mind the talk about it.

ill be at work when its on anyway soo mehh to it.

The value of her "Queen's" holding; Approx £17,600,000,000,000 (17.6 Trillion pounds).

So why the hell is taxpayers money being used to fund a bullshit wedding..

I'd rather read about people in the middle east since it actually has some relevance on what is happening in the modern world and it's important. The royal family are little more than celebrities for the sake of celebrities to me.

I want my 67p back please.

That is the apparent value of everything she owns...not how much she has in the bank.

If she did have that much in cold hard cash though she could solve 1/3 of the worlds debt...

As for the wedding itself, well it gave me an extra days holiday this year so thats a bonus.

But I'll be working on the day itself.
