Friend of mine hit a sheep year before last, I was behind him, all I could see was him slam on and a sheep go flying over the top of the car. We were going like 70mph.. The sheep survived, car was a write off. The sheep shook his head and then went to eat some grass

I've hit a few things, drove my old car round with a blackbird hanging head first out of the front grille and "KFC anybody?" written on the bonnet in permanent marker. Got some funny looks in car parks lol. Also hit a fox and had to run it back over to finish it off as it's guts were hanging out. TBH I seem to be an animal magnet when i'm driving, lost count of the number of birds i've caught in the windscreen wipers. I was once coming back from a night out lamping and I hit a badger. It was in a bad way so I thought i'd shoot it in the head to put it out of it's misery. Took 4 rounds to the head from a 12 gauge to kill it.

badgers are tough bastards lol

I'm still finding parts of a badger under my car 2 weeks after hitting it :?

someone had already hit it killing it, came round a corner on one of the national limit roads coming into cov at night, saw it laying in the middle of the road, planted my foot on the brake but there was no way I was stopping in time, so I lifted off just before we got to it to bring the nose up in an attempt to save my splitter and BANG... poor thing pretty much exploded when it hit my sump, was not a pretty sight

once I managed to roast a bluetit in my engine :-/

eat it?

my mate once had a corsa with a body kit and was driving home from work. he said a pigeon flew out then disappeard to find when he got home ther was a arse of a pigeon wedged in one of his fog light holes. he pulled it out and then the pigeon flew away

Pigeons play with traffic, you can sometimes see them getting ready to fly off at the last moment and they nearly always go vertical to get the turbulence.

Worst thing you can do is slow down,as they get confused trying to judge when they need to jump.

They manage to get over the roof of other cars i drive, but in the MK2 I've wiped a few out with the top of the screen.

Perhaps the lack of aerodynamics,i dunno.

I'm sorry but purposely hitting and killing animals is fcuking disgusting. And many of you get pleasure from this which is sick.

^^ Yeah, far better to swerve, loose control and wipe out a few people instead.

Or brake hard,so all the vehicles behind panic and someone swerves, looses control and wipes out a few people instead.

My mate has slaughtered 2 deers in his vtr, the first time it wrecked the front end summit cronic, blood and fur everywhere working on that car after was not a fun job

wow I'm surprised the saxo came out of them 2 incidents better than the deers

Expensive accidents to happen these bird strikes are. I hit a pelican once..

the bill was huge

Never enjoyed a nice tasty burger or or a succulent piece of spicy dreaded chicken? Because contrary to what you may believe those animals didn't die of natural causes, they were purposely killed for you culinary pleasure.

I wouldn't purposely swerve to hit an animal, infact may times I've slowed to give them as much chance as I can to get out the way, but slamming your breaks on or serving to avoid them is just irresponsible so some times an impact is unavailable.

A duck once ran on to the road infront of me and all I could fo was brace for impact, I felt guilty about hitting it and I didn't get pleasure out of the fact that I had killed it, but did that stop me almost pissing myself when I looked in the rear view to see its headless corpse carry on running straight in to the curb? Hell no, because some shit is just funny.

This^

haha.. I was the same, I felt guilty as hell, but I couldn't help but laugh when all the feathers went everywhere.

Saying that I would rather deal with the guilt of killing a stupid germ ridden pest than dealing with a written off car becuase I braked or swerved irrationally.

My old man use to own a 110 defender with a roof rack. One day we hit a sea gull, it mustve gone through the front of the rack and hit every single rung on the way back. Sounded like someone falling down the stairs...

Took ages to clean that roof rack..

Especially with the recession and every man and his dog buying the cheapest tyres known to man doing any of the above could cause a disaster...I'm sure the pheasant will be happy though...for the five minutes before he is hit by someone else.

  • 2 weeks later...

Once was walking through college and one of the tutors grille and the bottom of the bumper was pretty smashed up so out of curiosity just had a peek and there for a pheasant which surprisingly was still whole wedged between the bumper and radiator. Pretty funny how a big bird got through such a small hole.

And for hitting animals being sick, birds dont matter in my opinion but when its a cat or dog or something, thats someones love and could be a little boys only mate!!! but my mate did write his car off into a bus stop to avoid a dog! luckily the bus stop was empty and out of good will the bloke whose dog it was brought him a new car (lucky bugger considering the car he got brought was about 4 years newer) ! so it didnt effect his insurance

Wont be adding her on facebook then lol
