W111's 9n, now contains 10% added Jap

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I've been a member here for a while but have never got round to posting a build thread so i thought now whilst I'm supposed to be revising would be the best time  My 9n is a 2002 1.2S 12V.

Just a few pics of some progress with the polo, mostly 'student budget' mods so nothing major yet but its getting there.

Mods are:

12" Fli Active Sub

FK Highsports Coilovers- Front Helpers and Rear Adjusters out- roughly 115mm front and 105mm rear

Red tinted rear lights

Wind deflectors

Debadged 'Polo' and '1.2' off bootlid

Stickers reppin' Dubshire and 743 Dubs ;)

This was it before any lows but with red tinted rear lights and slightly debadged:

And this is it after the Eibach 30mm springs, I struggled to get a pic where it looks low its only 30mm but having had the car 2 years before it was lowered it seems good to me, also wind deflectors yo :-p

Then some more recent stuff, audi wheels bought but still shod with A3 tyres so saving for low pro's at the moment. Also want to paint the centres of these black leaving the lip as it is However this is as far as I've got with that...

Then I got a bit stickerhappy 8-) , all just with free magazine stickers so might re-do it again when I have more time plus thinking of doing a few other bits.

  • I'm in love with that rear bumper!

Looks good, what did you use to tint the rear lights? Just spray?

yeah E-tech stuff, got it off ebay, you're supposed to get green bulbs as well so that the indicators shine through orange although I didn't and haven't had any unwanted attention in nearly 2 years. Just scratch the bit you want to paint with quite a fine sandpaper first then spray :-)

Brilliant I'll have to give that a try, thanks :)

cheers bud, I chose against the pepperpots in the end, 15s can look a bit small on the 9n I think. I couldn't get the merc trims to fit anywhere near flush to be fair, could you message me a pic of yours fitted?

I didn't have them fully fitted sorry. They stick out about 5mm from the standard steel when held on by ties. (hope you took the old trim off first as in the mock up you don't?) Keep them :) I kinda wish I didn't sell them now, like the look of them so much... Some other people get some 15 merc trims and tie them on smooth. They go over some of the space of the tyre and actually looks pretty fresh. I'm looking to go a next step when i get me pots on. With some spacers and defiant lows and maybe something a little special with the centre caps :)

Sounds good mate, yea haha I took the standard trims off first don't worry. The trims seem to go on ebay or much more than I payed os might even make something  pots will look good bud, just hope my secret rims don't start turning up on other dubs before I get them sorted

Ahaa yeah man i brought mine for £35 sold for £40 cuz of the kerbing. And thats good bud. Now i wont to see them wheels ;)

16s are taken their sweet time as they need drilling, boring, custom spigots and I can't afford the tyres haha but they will be here soon enough, and yeah had never really thought about the mudflaps til recently but they'll be coming off as soon as I'm back home now I think. And will hopefully get the front down a bit more once the wheels are sorted :p

Deffo going to be something along porsche wheels or something. Personally i would never get wheels re drilled just down to the strength weakening etc. But each to there own :D. Liking what i am hearing tho!!

they're not being redrilled mate just having the bolt holes drilled out to 14mm to take VW bolts , don't want to say much more in case I give the game away haha

Ohh fair enough!!

all secrets.... :ninja:

Tbf. I've had some wheels for a Year now that have only just bought adapters and am waiting to renew insurance till i bang them on.

Kept it on he hush - imagine if I said look what i got then everyone waited a year to see what hey look like on ha!

Need to put some tyres on - plus i just bought some audis too.

Loving your default picture, not too sure on the splitter but I think (non biased ...honest) red 9ns look the best haha

cheers buddy, yeah the few people who know what my wheels are won't shut up about wanting to see them on the car but as we obvs both know these things take time (and money!). Lol the splitter needs tidying up a bit where it meets the arch tbf but thats not a major issue, and its showing a few battle scars already so once the fronts down more it may not last that long anyway haha

I'm not a fan on the splitter bud tbh. Rather have a vortex kit, but thats me.

Just a quick update, nothing new just a nice pic from Deva dubs n rods. Also wheels should be finished in about a week so there will be a better update once I get tyres.

Right time or an update, car is now sitting lower (rear adjusters and front helper springs out) and the new rims are finally powdercoated after a few problems. I got the wheels cheap off a mate but they had been in his garden for some time and were quite corroded. With a nice bit of stretch the wheels set things of nicely I think, I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking

YES! this looks so good.

I was initially thinking about running alfa teledials but was worried they wouldnt be wide enough, this seem to sit really nice though. Take it these are just on with wobble bolts?
