Are you painting the topside as well?

Have you brushed any of the underside or is it all spray? What are you doing inside the jacking points? Mine look like they have surface rust inside.

I haven't decided weather to have a full respray yet.

Sprayed the primer, sprayed the stonechip with a shultz gun, and brushed on the the 2k yellow.

I'm happy ish, and in the process of refilling a couple of small areas, it will be far from 100% perfect though, after all I have no bodywork experience!

Wow steady on, there's lots of polo's out there with amazing engine bays, so I doubt very much it will be anywhere near as good as those!!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Upon closer inspection of the primer in the engine bay, there's still more fine filling to do, to eliminate pin holes and fine scratches.

And at the moment I just couldn't be arsed :mad:

So I moved on to cleaning the years of dirt off the inside of the front wings, to then stripping the underseal down to the primer, I shall re-prime, stonechip, and give em a couple of coats of yellow.

i cant say I'm not suprised Andy, to get that bay right the first time would have been incredible! stick with it and remember the long it takes and the more work you do - the better it will be. dont cut corners or you will regret it!

I've been using this shite which has kinda made things worse as it appears so hard to sand!

Spent the day finishing the cleaning up of the inner side of the front wings.

Both wings had slight surface rust, the drivers side more so.

I've applied a couple of coats of Jenolite to the rust and tomorrow I shall prime and stonechip :-D

And then hopefully get the engine bay sorted by the weekend.
