Gti festival next weekend, weather permitting, then its 895cc out, bay stripped, primed and painted, and AFH dropped in.

I'm gonna try and minimize the bay, removing battery and washer bottle to the boot area, top fill rad or inline filler, maybe remove the heater matrix and open up the rain tray area, hide the wiring loom and everything else, and hopefully have it all done for next spring. :biggrin:

Made a start on the engine conversion yesterday by removing the engine, labelling the connections and removing the engine looms, front grill, and headlights, ready to remove the rest of the Ziebart, then sand, smooth, prime, and paint.

Engine almost out, with the fruits of our labour! :-D

I'm sure we've all started something, then wished we hadn't!!!

Cleaning the engine bay of ziebart is one of those never ending jobs.

In places it's a couple of mil thick, and a hammer and chisel is the only way it can be removed, otherwise its scrape with a chisel to remove most of it, then soak with tar remover, then finally a scouring pad or wirewool soaked in white spirits.

That's all well and good on the large, and flat surfaces, the hardest bit is getting into the corners, part hidden ledges, and all the nooks and crannies.

Thankfully, I'm getting there, although very slowly :-D
