Could i ask are your rear windows a factory tint? If they are are they a green or black tint?? I can't wait to get mine now.

And this is why you don't have an expensive 1st car... least get a year or two driving experience under your belt.

But a lovely present and hope you are more careful in future, we all been there and done silly things and not paid attention to the car in front (god I should know).

Did a bit of carbon wrapping today, took Hurdy's idea from his GTI and wrapped the fog surrounds, also shoddily did the GTI badge as I didn't remove it, should be getting the VW badge done tomorrow hopefully!

Let me know what you think this is the first time I've carbon wrapped anything

You must tell us all how to carbon wrap everything! Just got my mk8 car, identical to yours but silver, thinking of making the badge, wheels, mirrors etc black, and try and get a GTi grill but cannot find one anywhere! Great car though. We should try and hunt all mk8 owners down and create a club!

Could i ask are your rear windows a factory tint? If they are are they a green or black tint?? I can't wait to get mine now.

In the trunk where your spare wheel is theres a tool kit and you should find a small hook tool which just goes into the holes of the fog surrounds and you literally just put it in and pull them out! As for the GTI grill there aren't any going online really but if you ring up your local VW garage and ask to buy one they are around £70, if they ask for a reg google a GTI on auto trader or something and have that reg at hand just in case! Also I wrapped the GTI badge really poorly, I just did it on the car.

Not really anything to update on the car at the moment, gonna tint the fogs yellow hopefully next week and paint the front callipers and get pressed plates soon when I get paid.

So, how did you do the wrapping? The picture of the fog lamp looks sweet! What tools, like a hairdryer or heat gun, and some vinyl wrap? Obviously the biggest thing at the back of my mind is insurance! I am collecting my car this weekend and might create a post of pictures. But it is standard, I want to do some visual changes but I do not want to go overboard without telling my insurance company and have a major crash and it void my insurance!

Have you thought about lowering it yet? As mine is major high and want it lowering but know for sure that a 17 year old would not get away with that on insurance!

As for the tip on the grill - thanks man! Will give that a try! But again, did you tell your insurance about yours? :p

Bought some carbon wrap off of eBay for about £3, took the fog surrounds off, used my mums hair dryer and just fitted it on. For the GTI badge I got an extension cable outside and used the hair dryer. I'm gonna do the front badge but it's a bit of a pain to get off so I've not got around to doing it yet.

I want to lower it so bad the ride height is ridiculous but I haven't got enough money and I've got a lot on this year so I doubt it'll happen anytime soon! :( My Dad's a bit funny about me doing it too. I've not put anything on my insurance yet!

I'll definitely put pictures up when I get around to the brakes.

I decided when I turn 21 though I'm gonna sell this and get a MK5 or MK4 R32 though haha

My insurance is under my Dad's multi car policy so I wouldn't be able to do it without telling him and also I drive to his quite often so he'd notice it, it's not so much that as more the money aspect anyway, I'm going to Zante, potentially travelling this year if i defer entry to uni and maybe insuring my car next year depending on whether I'm going to use it or not so I need to save for all of this so it's not looking likely at the moment unfortunately!

Just put the suspension on, Go home,

Then just ring up and add it on.

Very nice polo my friend and your from Leicester (which isn't a million miles away). On my 9n i was thinking of doing the boot handle in that carbon rap as of corrosion (sp have most of them that i have seen). Is it easy to put on? and as like you said its only '£3'

So easy to do! Just takes a bit of patience to do it, if you mess it up you can just heat it up and peel it all off and do it again too

Just on eBay man, just search carbon wrap there's tons of different sizes, its pretty cheap too
