My brother did the exact same thing to his Golf the other day! He did his in the drive through of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts though :p. I guess its a price you have to pay for being low ;)! Looks good though, sits really well.

hahaha no need to be a c*nt mate, if you read around you'll see I had no idea I was getting this and I didn't ask for it, I had saved up £6k myself from working and saving and my Dad used that and put

so annoying! Lapse of concentration incidents are the most frustrating! Thanks :)

really liking this bud! glad the haters are gone

haha cheers bud, me too!

you going any shows this year?

I fucking love this now

But you can see why people hate because like me, you're a new driver. And you've had lots of little incidents. And a new car is a shame to dent and ding. I haven't had any incident yet but it won't bother me that much if I put a little ding in, nor will it devalue the car as much.

That being said the blue touches look so much better and I'll be honest this has turned into an awesome 6R. Please don't bin it completely, I'm sure you won't :p

Thanks buddy, yeah - not just saying it but I am a really sensible driver now despite the side sill thing haha.

Hopefully next payday it'll be really set off if I can ever decide what wheels I want :)

Booked in for some smoothing this week or next week..... 8-)

Wheels are gonna have to wait another month due to some unforeseen circumstances I currently can't disclose

couldn't get a proper one from the front as a car was in the way

Small update anyway - Getting some body work done this week hopefully (provided my mate can find a place to do the re-painting). Was gonna pick up some wheels this weekend BUT I'm (hopefully) off to uni next month so I need to save cash for that right now so they're again being put on hold.

Doing something a little different with the body work though so stay tuned for that ;)

Car looks ace mate, liking the green instead of the purple.

Not a massive fan of stock 6Rs (Then again I'm not a massive fan of many modern stock cars) but when even some little things are changed it makes a big difference.

Definitely going to follow this thread, past few days back on forums have got me itching to get started on my 9N!

Need to get Creamfields out the way first.

Yeah they're so high stock, parked next to one today haha

Aaah I'm jealous I wanted to go! Going Reading instead though :)

Here's a few more comparison shots - also I cut out the clip bits from my grill that taking the GTI badge left behind, it's a bit shoddy but I think it looks better than it did before

updates are gonna be pretty slow on this now as I got into my first choice uni yesterday and I'm leaving in 4 weeks so I'm gonna be broke and probably won't have my car with me!

  • 9 months later...

car looks sick dude keep it up, will follow this build

  • 6 months later...

I've just read this entire post from start to finish! Brilliant build story!

  • 1 month later...

this is a brilliant thread for a brilliant car. I drove one of these all through my driving lessons as it was my driving instructors car. its so easy to drive and I think it is a brilliant car. cant go wrong with it haha. and its probably why I ended up getting my car.

I've just read the whole thing and I love what you did with the car... apart from the pink... sorry I mean purple ;)

and that guy at the start that was having a go because you mum bought the car, or something like that, he is a massive bell end, and that's probably why he lost his job.

if someone bought him a car, any car he wouldn't say no, and I know if someone bought me a car I wouldn't say no to it. its a car at the end of the day, but I decided to buy my own and get one that I love.

last point. you seem to have a thing now of finding other polos to park next to in car parks and stuff, are you doing this to show them up or something ;) hahaha

Such a nice 6R! Thank your dad for buying you this from me haha.

Invested in one myself last week and i love what you did with the grill and the front and back badges.

Could you explain how you did this detailing and how you removed the badges and grill?

Also, how much did you pay for coil overs?

(P.s - I'm new to all this so don't really have much of a clue and don't want to fiddle with my car and break it without having any knowledge.)

Cheers

Hey there, the car lools really nice man, I just wondered if you did any kind of preping work when you changed the trim color on the upper grill, /badge before you painted them?

I'm thinking of spraying mine and wondered if I could just spray the new color on, or if id had to sand/prime it or whatever

its clipped in, theres like slots made into the honeycomb gaps where the badge clips in.

if you want to replace the badge you could remove the lettering and put your own on or you'd have to remove the badge and attack the grille with a file to get rid of the bits between the honeycomb
