Just bought my second car and its a blue 6n2. I'm really happy with it and got it for much less than i was planning to spend so I've got a bit of cash left over to get it looking how i want it.

Everything was standard when i got it and it has a missing parcel shelf, a window winder that falls off when you use it and a Peugeot wheel trim tie wrapped to one of the wheels

Heres a pic when i got it.

Now I've sorted a few bits out inside and got some alloys on it.

Car also has Vibe door speakers and tweeters with an edge sub in the boot.

I'm planning to lower it with 60mm springs on the standard suspension, tint the rear windows and change the alloy center caps to vw ones. Has anyone got any ideas of what else i could do?

de badge de wiper, dont bother with lowering springs go straight in with coilies, so worth the money man

agreed scrap the idea of springs get coilies can change it however high u want get some dished alloys they would look pretty good also gti top grill and front splitter

other than that looks tidy and definitely the best colour :)

As for coilies I'm not sure because all i can really afford is the very basics for about £200 off ebay and i cant see em been much cop / cant justify spending that ammount and however much it will cost to fit em and how uncomfy they will be to take it down an extra 40mm than the springs would....

Also how bad would taking the plastic bits out of the front arches be? the alloys came with 4 Pirelli brand spankers that are 195/50 so i dont really fancy shredding them once its lower (one side looks like it already rubs a slight bit on full lock )

Trust me i was the same as you and got springs, the ride was not good, really bouncy etc and didnt even look that low! Just go straight for coils! The ride on mine is sweet and mine is pretty low! They would cost the same (prob less) to fit compared to springs, the only bit that takes a bit longer is adjusting and you can do that yourself! I wish i had got coils first! Mine only cost 160 off ebay, and they are TA technix's just under the name of hot tunning so do it!

I got ta technix off of eBay aswel mine cost me 155 and I love every minute of them and the ride comfort isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be and I've just taken my inner arch out just spray on some under seal or keep cleaning it under there and everything will be all good :)

Done a few more bits.

I've cleaned pretty much everything on the inside, gone round the whole car with scratch remover which did a really good job, taken the back wiper off which didnt really do anything anyway and lowered it a bit.

Really pleased with it so far but I'm wanting to get hold of some Heko wind deflecters and cant find any anywhere! so if anyone knows where i can buy em let me know please.

I'm not wanting it too low, with coilovers can you adjust the height at all? if not ill just get the 60mill springs

Yes you can adjust the height on coilovers and you can pick a cheap set up for £150-200 the ride isnt the best on cheapo coils but it is ok and i wouldnt think springs are much better. I would go with coils as you find alot of people who get springs end up getting coilies a few months after.

I got them off ebay for just under £100 but i think the cheaper ones would do the same job. They are Apex springs that take it down 60mm all round but compared to how high it was before id say its taken it down a bit further. The picture was taken just after i put them on so its gone a tiny bit lower now they have settled. The ride isnt too bad to be honest, you get use to it after a week or two.

To compare springs to coilovers id say with coilovers when your low and you hit a bump you feel a hard jolt, whereas on springs (if you stick them onto the standard dampers) your car bounces so you feel it more but its not as harsh.

Remember the springs are quite soft so when you get in it will drop a bit more at the front and with a full car it looks properly decked but its still pretty practical to drive!
