I've only drove it back from when i bought it, didnt seem too bad but it was ticking over rough as fook, plugged it back in and seems fine, unless someone had just forgot to plug it back in i cant see why they would run it unplugged

Re the earth straps the bonnet ones usually sanp but i had a small issue a few years back cant remember what it was but basically upgraded / re newed all earths , problem solved :)

who made up the exhaust? I've never seen one with a flange made to fit onto the standard mani, surely would of been easier to get a four branch and go from there. i like it though

hopefully i will be having a few patches put in soon, got to sort out one of the rear arches aswell

noooo dont tell me that, dont want it to be one of those colours thats hard to get a good match on. i wont be spraying any body panels yet, just going for rocker cover and other things but the bonnet needs doing at some point

The earths are very important. Mine wouldnt idle, missed when you put your foot down and felt very restricted. Sat at Tatton and saw the previous owner had left one of the earths off. put a new one on and ran smooth as silk.

Not only that but i was recently told by somebody quite good with electrics on here that if certain earths arent connected it can melt/damage the loom as the current tries to take the shortest route back around the electrical circuit. which is normally the ECU and therefore causes wires to break down.

managed to get a few more things done recently.

picked up a strut brace off saf this week and test fitted it in place before i get drilling holes. relocated my catch tank so its out of the way now and looks much better now i think :) then adjusted my air filter so its in the bay and got rid of the red hose for now until i can find a jabba kit.

really happy with the way its coming on now as I've got rid of all the other colours and got a nice silver theme going atm.

i started having a look at some of the other rust spots recently

passenger side door shut was suffering abit so i rubbed it back to see what was left, I'm probly just going to smooth that off with filler as its not too bad

found a nice big yummy patch in my rear arch which needed attention, it was being mainly held together by underseal but i pulled it off to find this

cut it back and cleaned it up for now

I took the back seats out tonight because i think I'm gonna go for a stripped rear so wanted to see what i was up against

seats out, looks pretty darn rough in there so I'm gonna have to attack with the spray gun in there aswell by the looks of it. not sure if i want to board the floor or not just to tidy it up abit

found a wiring kit aswell, bonus i suppose

I will always have an emotional attachment to this car, it gave me my first and many G smiles along with some amazing times. Its nice to see its gone to a good home and that it shall be put to a standard it deserves and would have got to if circumstances would have been how the previous owner would have wished they could be.

It shall be greatly missed but its clear it has moved on to a new and interesting home.

I'm not a fan of what you have done with the rocker as the grinding shows through! the brace and filter are not my taste either however I can see why you did change them.

In regards to the shite in the rear, I believe that B-Shaw can be held accountable for that aswell as the job the previous owner has.

Keep it up.... I will be keeping a close eye on this one for sure.

Thought I recognised the plate on this, I owned it a good few years ago, picked it up as a low owner and relatively low mileage car from someone of the older generation for a bargain price. Was completely stock, only failed its MOT on the exhaust, and the only one I had around was a lovely german 2.5" system with an s bend tailpipe that came from Geds old dark green g40 show car, wonder why that got removed? Great to see it's still going strong, good luck getting it minted.

Picked these up the other day from barnsley. I'm just in the process of making up some sliding subframes for them so i can get them in the car, then ill give them a rite good clean and hopefully they'll look tip top

well progress has been slow with this as ever. finally finished getting my seats in and fitted which I'm pleased with as they fit in all the factory runners so no welding required. just need to get harnesses now which i would already have if i didnt get shafted by last minute bidders on ebay

They will custom make it, depending on weather you have a sunroof or not, if your keeping the back seats or not, bolt in or weld in, how many cross bars etc, weather you want something to mount harnesses too. anying you want pretty much

sounds to me like someones got a bit of an itch to get a cage hahaha I'm trying to keep the car as light as possible without ripping absolutely everything out of it so a cage would only weigh me down :( would look full on sick with some beefy metal work bolted in it though :)
