My non servo breaks work just as well as those on my servo assisted mk3, and antilock brakes are only there for retards who can not control the braking of there car with their foot and need a computer to do it for them, all alb do is give idiots a false sense of security right up until they miss judge the stopping distance and still plough into the back of some one. Pretty much every front end write off car that comes into our yard is modern and has anti lock brakes.

No no no, I wouldn't run into a horse with my car. Just speed past and watch in my rear view mirror as it runs amock!

My dad went past a horse on his motorbike. My mum is a horse person so he went very slow and wide. Horse spooked right across the road and sent him flying, he broke a few ribs and lost the feeling in his foot from nerve damage.

The case is still ongoing, think it is a bit of a grey area, not helped by the horse rider lying through her teeth!

Well in that case nobody can be put to blame really. Your dad passed slow and wide as he should, the rider couldn't do anything; The horse just freaked out. I know someone who goes into a complete panic attack when she see's a frog, nobody can explain it and she can't help it. It's basically the same thing.

Taking away personal opinion for a second and looking at a often over looked fact in these types of threads, horses are frightened by loud noises which can often lead to them freaking out, damaging themselves, the rider, cars and pedestrians.

You wouldn't take your friend who goes into a panic at the site of a frog to a frog farm would you, so why take a horse to a place that its gonna be surrounded by things that its scared of?

Before buying a motor cross bike you also have to take into account the cost of getting that bike to a place where you can legally ride it, if you can't afford to do that then don't get one, same should be true for horses, take all costs into account as well as the cost of the horse, hardly rocket science.

Why do people ride horses on the road anyway? If you own a horse, then, you should also own at least half an acre for it to run around in. So why not just keep it on your own property? I know for sure I would not take such a dangerous animal on to a busy street if I have a perfectly good field behind me.

See that seems to be the problem for the most part. Owning a horse is a status symbol, people buy themselves or their kids a horse to try an show they have made it (even if they have't quite made it yet). So you end up with countless people owning horses that don't have anywhere suitable to ride them, hence they tend to ride them in some fucking stupid circumstances.
