The 16v only needs a blow over and a new wing, that's a lot of effort to go through just to save giving one car a blow over max

Really? Lol, i thought there was quite abit of rot on the 16v?

No that's one of the few things it's has going for it

Only found one bit on the rear end of one of the sills but they all seem to go there and its an easy fix. It's got plenty of dings and paint defects but she's solid

Awesome. See you soon babe.

Keying sucks ass, so mind numbing

Yeah, i wouldnt wanna do it again if I'm honest

Probably something to do with it being one of the hottest weeks of 2009 that i did it. Got a crazy tan from working on the car that week

The bad news is, i might be doing it again :ninja:

Everything is a "might be" with you tobes

slight *bump* and also just wondering if there has been any progress on this beast?

yeah update us boi!

Sorry no progress yet mate, Xmas has taken priorities over the last few months but time and money are starting to free up a little more now so hopefully we can get it in the garage and finally get some paint on it. It's currently sitting under cover patiently waiting for its turn to get finished

Has it really been this long since an update?

Well since Xmas this has been in a lock up, as always other things have taken priority, but all the while I've been collecting stuff for this, keeping decent bits from cars I've broken and stuff that's been upgraded on mine has been passed down to this. So I'm finally at a point where I have no more room to store shit for this. so I've found a garage to use this weekend so the weather can't fuck me over and I'm going to get as much swapped over to this as I can, baring in mind I can't fully rebuild it as its still awaiting paint but hopefully this should be the kick up the arse we need (project quick term abound indeed  ).

So first up are new shocks with -40mm springs built up in spare front struts for ease of fitting and topped off with some vw2's with groved disks. Struts with be cleaned up and painted before fitting

Next is a set of mk2 coupe s rev counter clocks

The seats were pink, so I saved the grey ones from the bready I just broke, nothing special but they are a lot more tasteful

IMAG1667.jpg

(shit pic and they need a clean but you get the idea)

Also got some clear front indys

From what I remember this was fairly poverty spec inside so I also have a glove box, center console and some over bits and bobs to make it a bit better spec. Wouldn't mind a coupe S steering wheel for it if anyone has one they would swap for a GT steering wheel?

No doubt there is other stuff I've forgotten and will find once I can finally get a chance to dig through all the stuff, got a shed and garage full of parts atm

Won't but up there again till at least Monday night now when I will move on to swapping the sewage and fitting any other interior parts that won't get in the way of painting, after that I'm moving on to the engine bay for a deep clean and tidy up

Only pics I got today

Yep i'll have them off you tubs 8-)

Eric I might be putting them on this yet, we'll see, i'll let you know if I choose not to. They will be £20 tho cause I've just bought some G-lader clamps to go with them rather than the pikey home made ones I had that I wouldn't of sold on with them through fear of them failing

Just had a browse through this. Fantastic work and commitment. It makes me feel bad about breaking that coupe I had, but the damage was equal to, if not worse than this. If i had your skullz i could have saved it maybe.

Let me know if there is any coupe bits you may want/need

£20 is fine bro :)

Guy what's the point of this aha? :)

^Keeps him away from home?

Everyone will take that the wrong way haha

Cheers si, and i'll give you a shout if I find anything I need, just waiting to see what the cash flow is like before getting back to you about those bumpers

Nah its a bit of a wheeler dealers thing arris, got the car for free, collected loads of shit over time that was either free or owed me very little and jons gonna do the spray job, what ever we make on top we split. Plus we saves what a lot would say was a polo only good for parts and I gain more experience with the welder and body work

Interior is pretty much done, just door cards to swap but can't really do that till its being built back up after paint

The reason I wanted to swap seats

IMAG1692.jpg

Added glove box and center console, being a pov spec car it didn't have either of these

IMAG1694.jpg

Seats fitted, need a clean but already look much better than the old ones
