I like the idea of that. Do you just splice it in line with the oil pressure switch, or do I need a relay first?

I'm actually using an mk2 Ignition setup with a 6n engine. I have just noticed that the old mk2 doesn't have an amp(? Small, flattish item with about 7pins on, mounted on a brass bracket under rain tray). I'm using a late mk2 dizzy. Am I going to have to run the amp from a late mk2 aswell?

Well your deffo gonna need the amp, the igntion set-up your talking about only came on late hyrdo headed mk2 polo's (some golf's) and yeah you need the amp other wise it's not a complete set-up.

You'll also need the correct pencil coil aswell.

As for the relay and the oil pressure switch, thinking about it i dont know if it would work. On my 86c engine, you have two pressure switches, one high pressure and one low. The high pressure circuit is NC (normally closed), so when the sender see's high pressure, it un-earths and the buzzer goes off. The low pressure sender (the only one i use) must be a NO (normally open), so when it see's low pressure it earths and connects the circuit, the buzzer goes off.

That's why when doing 6n engines into mk3 conversions, people just earth the high pressure sender wire, so the clocks think that it is still earthed, as soon as you disconnect it, the buzzer goes off.

I have all the coil etc. From a late hydro headed mk2. If I was to run an early dizzy, could I have gotten away without the amp? (not that the lugs and cam line up between early dizzy and later cam)

Ah, so why won't your oil pressure sensor work trick work? Can I not add in another pressure switch? The hole ouseems to have a bung in it?

can someone clear up on the mk4? i have looked and cant see another fuel pump anywhere...unless its above the tank...diagrams only show wires to one pump?

it is common for more modern cars to have the pump in the tank..anyone know?
