1989 Ranger

Featured Replies

Inherited this one owner 1989 Polo Ranger earlier in the year. At first glance the car was immaculate. I found evidence of minor repair work with the odd bits of flaking laquer here and there and small parking dents along both sides (which is to be expected of a 22 year old car), but all seemed fine and the car drove very well.

I was happy with the car but thought about a modest drop and some wheels, so 50/40 drop and a set of speedlines didn't break the bank. Got the car on the the ramp at work to fit the springs and found what I originaly thought was a bit of surface rust. It wasn't.....the floor was rotten, along with sections of both sills!

After thorough inspection the rest of the car was found to be rust free, so off to my mate whos an old school welder/fabricator to sort it out!

So, with the car lowered, wheels on and floor solid all I needed to do was 'tidy' up the paintwork, sort those small parking dents and flaking laquer....

Thanks Guys...

needs the black B pillar trim IMO

I reckon it looks sexy without the black pillar

Nicely done mate, looks lovely and I like rangers without the B pillar trim. Early ones don't come with it. :)

Tastefully done, always nice to see.

I feel your pain, these things always seem to break the budget. Worth the effort though, the cars looking great :)
