I'd like to know how "all bikers are nobs" because he did that...... I've never seen a biker do that but i've seen car drivers do it loads of times but if a car driver did that too you i bet you wouldn't be all like "all car drivers are nobs" bit hypocritical i think.

Also many people are like "i know so and so who have died on a bike" and that makes everyone else a danger and makes everything about bikes bad and many people stop riding bikes etc because of it when i bet if they knew someone who died in a car they'd carry on driving as usual....

Whilst I have NEVER had a single issue with a biker, this is the type of shit which really pisses me off!

If someone had almost hit me, but was clearly apologetic about it, any anger I might have felt would disappear immediately. That guy was an utter c*nt for doing that. If you had given him some abuse in return then it would be understandable for the guy to be provoked.

To be fair though everyone I know actually believes they aren't bad drivers or riders, when really they all are a bit dodgy in one way or another.

I wouldn't even say I was a "good" driver as I genuinely don't believe they exist and I know I have been a cock on the road at times, but I only ever realise it after it has happened.

I know many bikers who believe they are awesome riders and can cheat death whenever they so wish, but any time they have a near miss or actually get knocked off, it is NEVER their fault and always the "bastard in that car".

Best example I can think of would be one of my good friends.

He has been riding for about 7 years now and he likes to say he is experienced and all that shit. But one day when I was on my way through the village he lives in we met each other along the way. And when I say met, I actually mean we collided.

What happened was, he cut a corner going round to the right whilst I was on said corner turning left.

His handle bars caught my drivers side wing mirror and sent him flying into a field. Luckily it was at low speeds, so the only damage done was to my car (thank god). BUT to this day he maintains that it was MY fault he came off, even though I was completely on my side of the road and he was basically riding down the white lines in the middle. He said that I should have seen him coming (though a hedgerow) and anticipated that he was going to lean over into my side of the road.

That to me proves that people clearly don't get when they are being a twattish driver/rider.

Also at the end of the day, why else would someone own a big powerful motorbike if it wasn't about the thrills of monumental acceleration and g-forces. To drive like that on the road, no matter what vehicle you are in either takes some balls or you must be a c**t. If people want to thrash around on two wheels then they should fuck off to a track or some other event. Because at the end of the day its not just the biker can die, it is easy enough for a car driver to be killed by a biker.

Normally cars fault though, had 2 friends knocked off by cars and it being completely the cars fault and i've also seen 2 crashes myself, one was bikers fault (idiot was overtaking round a bend lol) and the other was the cars who pulled out from a junction without looking and then (this is the best bit) the stupid woman got out her car and went straight to the front of her car to see if there was any damage, completely ignoring the poor bloke she'd just knocked off and broken his legs!

My grandad about 2 years ago was going down a road near a school on his bike and a silly bint decided she couldnt see out of her drive so stuck the hudge bonnet of her 4x4 out on to the road making him break and come off his bike.

He had a spiral break all the way up his right leg and a stone had acked like a bullet and ripped a huge hole in his leg.

After 3 consecutive months of being in hospital (also over christmas), having a year and a half of physio and also 3 operations on the 3x4 inch hole in the side of his leg he is able to walk about half the distance he used to.

So at the age of 67 he now cant walk as far, doesnt have the hobbie and freedom he loved, can no longer go on planes over 5 hours and has had to rethink his plans for his and my nans retirment just because a women didnt see him.

So next time just look.

My mate was pretty much exactely the same situation but not the same amount of damage, however he was in hospital for months with septicemia (or however you spell it) which can kill you all because some money decided not to look.

And there lies the risk you take in riding a bike. Fact is they're harder to see so you shouldn't be surprised by the incompetence of other road users

However, after making his point, and the driver acknowledging that it was his fault, and apologising to the biker for this mistake, for him then to continue to push things to the point that he starts slapping the guy in the face? Point has been made, lesson learnt. He's been chased down and forced over to the side of the road - does this not seem like something that would make a lasting impression on most people? I'm sorry, but if that'd been me and he reached out to slap me, he'd have had his fingers back pointing in the wrong direction.

to clarify... i wouldn't condone his actions, but if his natural reaction to an incident where he could have died was to be very pissed off, then i say fair enough.

a few years ago when i was still riding bikes, if i had the balls to chase down every dickhead who pulled out on me and give them a piece of my mind, i would have done.

the biker in queston had every right to be pissed off. giving the car driver a slap is totally wrong, but his motive is clear and understandable.

bikes are harder to see......... FACT! so if you're on one do your best to show yourself and make sure you're always visible.

I hate it when a bike hides in your blind spot and you frantically look around trying to work out where the f he is and if he'll over or undertake you...

i know this has nothing to do with the original post but it is very frustrating when you're trying your best to look out for bikers and they jus hide away
