Big blow indeed! I would've brought the car back and sourced a new part for cheaper, 295 is a lot!

On a happier note, I love how you've transformed this, very smart

Thanks mate :-) just need to lower it a bit and get some new wheels after Winter!

Have you got a build thread at all?

Update: 4/11/2011

Kwikfit some how found a problem which made me have to pay £60 more to add another part of the exhaust onto the bill... in the end it came to £389 a HUGE blow to my savings... then had it serviced last week and getting brakes and cambelt changed tomorrow morning because the cambelt is over due as it hasn't been changed for over 55,000 miles now so don't wanna risk it.

Don't know if else has experienced this when you visit kwikfit they always seem to find something else with the problem you have shown them.. it's happened to me twice now and not going there again!

The brakes are completely worn out and the weird thing was only the drivers side brake disc was changed recently and not the pads or the disc on the passenger side, very weird!

Not much is going to be happening anytime soon as a lot of my money has gone into this car now and I really need to start saving again.. :-)

The only real picture update I have is a new pollen filter I got today and took a few pictures of the before and after as I really wanted to show you guys it

Pollen filter came in zee post!

Thanks mate, will have to see my mate about that as he got his bonnet wrapped in Carbon at a place he knows just down the road from me.. how much do you think it would be as a rough estimate?

i remember changing my pollen filter the amount of crap in there was disgusting

probably doing more harm than good

Big Update Today! 14/3/2012:

Took a trip up to Weston-Super-Mare today with my mate Aaron to get some BBS RX2's from the user `dropitlow' aka Luke.

Some of the alloys look better then others but nothing a refurb can't handle, I just bought some new things for the wheels today.

1. Some tyre valve dust caps as none of the tyres have any on them.

2. Some copper slip as some of the nuts and bolts are rusty and could do with some greasing over.

And some center caps that arrived today as the ones on my new wheels are a bit scratched up..

Here are some pics of my car sitting on the new wheels!

IMG_0239.jpg

Been having this same problem for the past few months as well with this stupid `Exhaust System Warning Lamp' light that never turns off, Luke plugged it in today and the code was 16520

IMG_3706.jpg

Ran it through the fault codes with VAG and it said

`16520 P0136 O2 Sensor Circuit - Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)' so thats pretty much sorted which I'm relieved about now!

Also should be getting some TA coil overs this weekend so she should be sitting nicely on those wheels soon, can't stand how big the wheel arches are at the moment! haha

Cheers

Jamie

looks soo clean mate ! really like this car :) get her lowerd then shell be sweet (y) was it hard fitting the headlights? I'm gunna order some this weekend. make the car look a lot better

Cheers man yeah I like to keep her nice and clean a lot of the time. She's in great condition still as well so chuffed about that..

Changing the headlights mate wasn't too bad mate, me and my mate just took the front bumpers off the car and all. Small screws are located in the wheel arches and around the bumpers just got to unscrew them and it should all come out with no problem. If you have trouble doing this there's more then likely a thread around or just look in your Haynes manual mate that's what I did.

So worth it though once you change your lights, really changes the look of the front of the car and makes it look a lot newer and smarter I thought.

There was one problem though, because I bought brand new headlights you have to get them re-aligned because they will more then likely be way out as I failed an M.O.T. partly because of that so make sure you get them re-aligned and sorted out once their fitted.

Cheers

Jamie

Yeah just bought a few simple things to make them look a bit better, will sit so much better once the coilys arrive. Cheers again Luke!

Update 29/3/2012:

Finally got rid of the stupid exhaust system warning lamp! Got the rear lambda sensor replaced and then discovered that the front sensor was faulty as well said something like a heating malfunction.. The part was still under warranty so got it changed for free and now no more annoying warning light on my speedo!

Now I'm just waiting for my coilys to arrive!

Standard fog lights, haven't changed them since I got them I think my cameras ISO may have been a bit high or something to make them look HID `ish' in the photos.

Cheers man yeah taking a bit of time getting used to it have to admit!

Jamie

looking good so far dude ! keep up the good work :D
