2410020[/url]' date='Wednesday 19th September 2012 - 11:03am']Will not be attending gti fest!! Gutted!! The bottom end is rattling round like a child's toy!

Waaa! how come?

Never trust a dipstick. When filling up with oil the dipstick was saying it wasn't full not sure why which resulted in putting to much oil in! Then 2 mins down the road oil pressure gauge reads 0 got it back home and bottom end rattling about! On the plus side this afternoon I have stripped it back down the shells are out and goo news they not that bad and hasn't damaged the crank which was my main worry so new shells will be ordered on Friday and fitted the next dry day! So all going well I shall still be attending gti fest 21F8C99D-D61B-4E30-8AC5-F6FE31D9DB0F-4201D6B4938-FEA8-4902-B5F7-EC1D568D58C0-4204BC2899D-2975-440A-82C8-E60733226F87-420

Just changed the shells for a laugh? Until i noticed your manifold wasnt tight so that was the noise

Hahaha, Was that what it was?

Don't forget to run them shells in mate.

That what seemed to be the problem now as it runs sweet as a nut.

GTI Fest here we come :)

Well after fitting my nice massive race radiator and new turbo there was no room for the existing fan so ordered up one of these cool little 7" slimline jobbies witch work a treat

731F2C51-5887-4DD8-9329-8F54D5D8D1FB-251

So what turbo is now mounted onto the exhaust? and what was on there before ?

THursday cant come fast enough now :unibrow:

  • 1 month later...

Did you get mapped up?

  • Author

Yer but at the dyno it killed another turbo! Then replaced it the day before gti festival and destroyed another on the strip. So thought I would upgrade to a gt25 as the gt17 is a very weak turbo and spools up so slow! So bought a recond gt25 fitted it and burned oil like crazy so stripped it down and the groove in the shaft where the rear oil seal seats had worn like crazy the must not have noticed when rebuild and weren't really interested when I got back in touch with them so now needs a new shaft and oil seal. So just saving up for that then taking it off the road for winter!!

Will prob be selling it next year but will be taking it to spring fest before I think about selling it so everyone can see it in the flesh!!!

Long time no update. Will update when Back together prob with a vidio because the gt25 turbo sound incredible!!! :-)

This is epic, great work dude :)

ill get saving then :D lovely build!
