I get 300 miles to £50 in my 1.0L 6N, it's common knowledge tiny engine for a big car.. I'm not going to get 500 miles per tank because the engine size is reduced.

I've got a 1.0L 6N, figured it out the other day and i only get 33 to the Gal.

your problem maybe marb your driving style. its very easy to beat the manufacturers mpg claims if you drive it for effiency. i just wanna know, how fast your driving on the motorway? youve gone from a powerful engine to a weaker engine, driving style needs to adjust. driving on the motorway at 70mph in a 1.6 in one car will get you 50mpg. do it in another car, it will get you 40.

Some people would get better fuel economy from a bigger engine. Teasing a 1.4 along with it's extra torque is likely to give a better return than thrashing a 1.0 everywhere, because the 1.4 is running efficiently and the 1.0 isn't.

That is, at the same road speeds - Problem there is the desire to drive the 1.4 harder, just because the power is there to enjoy..

If you work it out (which I'd say you haven't)

Your 130 miles to £20 at £1.32 a litre works out at about 39MPG.

Which to be honest I'd find completely acceptable for the car and the combined journies you claim you did.

39 mpg is ridiculously low. The spec of this car is extra urban 55.4 mpg, Combined 47.1 mpg. Where you get 39 mpg from I don't know.

Your numbers on a guess.

£20 / £1.32 a litre / 4.55 litres in a gallon

= 3.33 gallons

132 miles / 3.33 gallons = 39mpg

Ain't bad for a little engine pulling a big weight.

End of the day, it's about efficiency.
