Gt cold air feed

Hi all,

Bought a GT as a project. Nice sturdy little car with a sound engine. However the previous owner had a front end prang so front end missing. So to the point; new to the gt scene ( drive a 1.3 genesis, totally different) the cold air feed pipe from the air box? Should that fit into some sort of plastic radiator surround before clipping onto the grill or just go straight from the box to the grill. On with building it up and it just occurred to me. Anyways any advice or pics would be great.
