Polo 6N2 After new timing belt

Featured Replies

Hi Guys!

First post here, and unfortunately, for all the bad reasons.

I own a 1.4 tdi Polo since 2001 and is now with 340k kms.

Its the family car as well as the car my wife uses for driving lessons.

A few weeks ago the coolant turned brownish and a water pump failure was diagnosed.

When replacing the pump, the timing belt, tensors, and the alternator belt were replaced.

Now, while driving at the freeway, at about 120kms hr, i noticed that the cars revs were a bit too high. when I'm used to have it at about 120kms hr /2500rpm, to go at the same speed the car has to climb up to 3000RPM.

It has done about 200kms after the new belt was fitted but the mechanic is saying that there shouldnt be any probs...

I'm not very "mechanic savvy" and i need all the help i can get.

Best wishes from Portugal!
