My brother and I are having issues with my Dad's driving. He actually does need new spectacles, his prescription is way out of date, and up until very recently he was taking painkillers and driving, when he shouldn't have been driving on them. Trouble is, Dad's a stubborn old goat who's been driving for eleventy billion years and sees no fault with his driving habits, last minute braking, not checking of blind spots and speed limits. Really is a scary man to be in the car with at times. Worst of all, he's been on a driver improvement course a few years ago and decided that the advice was mostly rubbish and has pretty much gone back to being a bit of a lead footed duffer.

petrol in diesel is about as good as putting a pound of sugar in your fuel tank

diesel in petrol not to bad shit all the same but it wont ruin the engine

Depends if it's an old diesel or a new one. Old ones don't tend to be too bad, even ford say my van will run on up to 25% petrol (used to do it a lot when I was breaking polos for spares but running the van for work).

true, the tolerances are much larger for old diesels using a mechanical injection system, also the lower pressure at which the old diesels inject at reduces the chances of pre ignition of the fuel, In common rail diesels you can get over 1000 bar of pressure being injected into the cylinder and the new piezoelectric injectors can get 1800 bar  you don't want to mess with that.

some young folk can't drive either was almost in a head on yesterday because a nobber in a 106 with lexus lights couldn't wait.
