Didnt mean to imply polos are the only good car. I was making a comment like Mikeys, whereby theres no point havin a big empty car most of the time. Since I'm used to older models, my 9n feels huge! Makes a good van with the folding seats!

Personally I wouldnt have a big car unless essential. More metal for some pilock to crash into!

Boras are nice though. The Eastern Europeans have brough a few sorted examples into town recently. Low and wide

As much as I agree with the logic behind the comment about not getting a bigger car than you need to an extent, I'd still have the bora over a polo because it looks so much nicer and is such a nice place to be, for me there's no comparison but that's just me. But then the bora is hardly a massive car, its just a golf with a boot stuck on the end

I know that feeling, I moved my dads Punto and my uncle/ex driving instructors Corsa late summer last year and they felt stupidly large and the visibility seemed to be MUCH worse that the Polos.

the way replies are constructed it's like the opinion has been made that its not possible to travel far in a polo lol.

If I wanted a car for longer distances, or infact if I got another car id probably get something bigger, nicer place to be etc, & like I said, all a bit quieter and comfortable

I've got my mk3 sold and pick my 6n2 tdi colour concept on saturday.

I'm a dominos delivery driver and my mk3 just wasnt practical,

and I needed a deisel for the miles.

Had a look at boras and the likes but I dont fancy going from a mk3 to a

car that realistically isnt huge but is much bigger than the polo.

I would have said the only difference was size and quietness.

But the colour concept is super comfy anyway and I like the way it looks :p .

Just a bit noisy on idle.

In the end it just depends what you really want!

The way I looked at it was the bora may be bigger and faster

but its more of a family car.

And the polo is more a car for someone my age (19 going on 20).

A good stage 1 remap until I can afford to go to stage 2 to will make it fun,

coilies and wheels and i'll be happy!

Andypandy, I doubt those figures very much, unless you have fitted a Bluemotion engine in your 6n2? 110 miles on £10 @ £1.40 litre would work out at about 70mpg!

I can back this up! I've had £20 at 136.7 last me two weeks and I drive 26 miles to work and back everyday

Shitting heck, i only get about 40 miles to £7.

It'll be a most weekend thing come Feb time, up until april however I will be using the MK3 :S

I just want something, that I can use for the mileage, yet still slap some coilies and some pretty rims on and be happy with :)

My car regularly does 60mpg+ on motorway runs without breaking a sweat. They are really awesome engines! (not that i'm biased)

A bora will always be cheaper to insure than the equivalent engined golf, and their boots are HUGE! Personally I think I might have to get a passat after i'm done ruining my golf

Has anyone tried running Redex on an eco run? They do claim that it improves mpg... Only thing I have noticed is that it soots less when booting it.

You have to take in to account its very easy to skew the average mpg meter thingy on short trips all it takes is for your foot to be nearly off the throttle down a hill and the trip counter starts to measure the mpg at figures of about 175mpg which soon pushes up the average, I've had my 9N PD100's trip counter up to 78.1mpg before on my half hour drive home from uni whereas the most I've ever got from full to the fuel light (about 38.5 litres) was 590 miles which is like 71mpg which is still impressive for a 1.9TDi.
