I've always thought the biggest problem with having a dildo for a gear stick is you'd feel a bit of a dick every time you change gear...

as for attaching it, could you not remove some of the middle (if it's not an... electric... one) glue a small-ish rod in there and clip that on?

you'd have to be "playful" when changing gear though, don't want it going flaccid...

I want to put a jap dildo shifter in my 9n polo, buut the existing gear stick is a clip one and the dildo shifter is a screw on one. i was wondering if there was some kind of adapter that would make this easier than welding on a bolt for it to screw to (as I've done this before, but it snapped off!)

They are designed for for screw on gear shifter sticks unless you know someone who could make an adapter for the polo shifter stick you won't be able to fit it
