So big update as for the last 6 months i'v been collecting parts for g40 turbo.

I think the best way is to just upload all the pictures so here it goes...

This was my first pile of bits:

Which placed together looked like this:

Then I added one of these:

Today I picked up, 6 paddle clutch, uprated driveshaft and mocal 16row oil cooler:

Also got braided oil drain hose that needs cutting to length, boost pressure switch that needs fitting into the throttle body, carbon fibre panel to house my stack boost guage in the dash, slimline fan and an oil catch tank.

Today I started stripping the gt lump down now the car is in a unit and I have a daily driver (borrowed of the misses).

Think thats it really, need to get busy building it up in the car once the final parts are here, probably after christmas now.

thanks joe

Pictures from what I've done the last couple of days...

started stripping the old engine out

Bumper off

Had to chop some of the bumper and crash bar to get the emtec intercooler to fit and also shave a bit off the chassis rail where it lips over. Heres the crash bar finished with a rubber strip along where I cut

Also had to cut a piece out of the front panel to allow for the turbo and engine movement. Slipped with the angle grinder so not perfect but should be ok when its painted.

here you can see why the cut out is needed slightly better. And mocking up some of the boost pipes to see what hoses I need.

Intercooler with bumper back on, nice and snug.

It's now locked in the unit untill January, want it done pretty soon really but the last few months have flown by quickly.

what do you think?

cheers joe

Awesome work matey!

That colour, those wheels and arches = perfection!

This is an inspiration for me and my car. Although my car is nearly base spec and this is a modified GT, it is a silver coupe on steel wheels.

Hopefully one day i'll be running more power like your good self!
