Yes bud, on these they are a two peace top mount, rubber and a bearing, the bearing was missing allowing the Coilover spring to chew the ruber mount. Knock and making steering hard so had to do something about it, new top mounts, front springs and drop link, plus the labour even tho I was working on the car.

The cars going to be replaced if can be afforded for a 9n3 or a mk5/mk6 golf..

hi mate just wondering if you have any clue why my polo is misfiring again its not long had a new coilpack due to misfiring before but cant understand why its doing it again.. plugged vag-com in but its not finding any fault codes as my engine light is not on but cant find out why its doing it.. its misfiring on idle but fine when its running it also bogs down and chugs when getting up to speed.. any help is good thanks buddy

Just the coil pack in the cylinder that was miss firing

Try your throttle body quite common on these, remove and clean with carb cleaner as they get full of carbon deposits. If not try swopping a good coil around, you could have a defective cylinder, so leaking under compression or just another faulty coilpack but hasn't failed to put a light on. 3 cylinders are common for being crap aha. Never again!!

I'm after £2500 for it. Covered 66k, 2004 plate, slight bits of body work but it's a 8 year old car. 1.2L. Just had a new coil spring and droplink, coil pack and a service 6k ago.- including spark plugs air filter, pollen filter, oil filter, oil.

Can be done a deal on it with existing parts left over ie Coilovers etc. after cash really...

Keelan9n - sounds to me like your car might be ready to go bang, not to scare you but they are common to go because of the close tolerances etc. alot of pressure in a 3cylinder and normally they can drop pressure in a cylinder makes them run ruff like a misfire. Advise to get a cylinder leakage test so you can see if you have a defective cylinder. If you do, scrap the engine and change it!! Recommend replacing It with a 4cylinder 1.4 instead of a 3pot. Just make sure it's not a 16v FSI as they eat the timing chain tensioners. Common problems with the 1.2's.. That's why they have finally gone back to a 4pot on the new polo's and Audi's

This works 110%, i am forever cleaning off run over bitchez as they are always hurling themselves infront of my car as i drive by. Use with caution.

I've got ta technix the same as the ones you fitted to yours, and as I've never fitted them I have no idea how the fronts go together. Is there any chance you could tell me how they go together, because they have a big aluminium cone on the top of them, does this get removed and replaced by the top mount and bearing?

Mine were fitted without the cone on and tbf my brother was a idiot for doing that as the spring inside width isn't even the same as the bearing. Hence the reason why he fitted them wrong. Left the bearing out and the cone so it was knocking its tits off...

Cheers for that, so the bearing and mount go on, then the cone goes on too followed by the nut? Its probably an easy mistake to make, not like you get any instructions with the kit so its not all straight forward, especially if you're not a mechanic (like me)
