Polo's gone :( New car has arrived.. Check it out in the none polo owners section :)

Well today I was a busy boy and woke up and cracked on with the job in hand.
The problem was that the previous owner had new pads fitted on f*cked discs (waist of money) and also who ever fitted them didn't shave the lip of the disc's and didn't trim the pad to fit the disc properly. This ment that the pads were forced in a dirty piston with no copper grease and moved back and forth making a rattling sound. So this led to me taking it to work for a new ball joint and a drop link. But they weren't the problem an till this was pointed out. I spent £45 pounds on the parts for Euro Car Parts, They came within two days. Here are a few pics of the job that could of cost me £200 at a garage.

The weather forecast was expected to rain so my dad let me put her in the garage to stay dry and let me crack on in the dry.

Old and new^

All fitted and working.
I bled the brakes with some FREE Halfords DOT 4 brake fluid and my handy brake pressure bleeder that was fed off the pressure of the tyre (good idea for the home use and worked amazing for £19.50) Defo recommend.
A money shot!!

The cat lights on, I'm assuming it can be the lambda sensor as when started from cold after bout 3 days it runs crap (like a misfire) antill its rev'ed. Going to get a fault code reader on it and see what is up with her. :( Still able to drive it but don't wont to risk more damage if it is the cat, Sucking bits back upto the block.

Liam

Got this looking nicee! LOVE the pepperpots I need a set badly haha!

  • Author

Cheers bud, Got to get coilovers, spacers, new tyres before the pepperpots go on. :) Oh and fix the car its self :)

Thats gonna look sweet! Much to do mechanically on the car?

  • Author

Cheers, I hope not just due down to the cost of fixxing it. But the lambda sensors aren't cheap either way :(. After looking at the price of them I am resorting in checking fault codes. I am 90% it is the lambda sensor but we will see. If it is, quick fix really, remove and replace, route the wires properly and jobs a gooden.

Liam

Ohhh man well i hope its the sensor mate! Get it on the road as soon as you can :thumbsup:
