After seeing these I may have changed my mind if the pots dont work

i think they look nice in pink different you will stand out sooo much more than if they where black man

ALL DUBS was awesome, shame I wasnt in the polo. But DTA deffinatly took over the top floor with all the air cooled goodies.

Well after a lot of messing around I've finally pulled my fingures out and started to sort out my pots. The wheels were brought off sicx off here (5dr black 9n) about 3 months ago, they have just sat in the garage since. Personally I had ideas that they had been refurbed at some point as they were rather shinny for paint back from factory.

So I started on the wheel and found out to a Suprise I hit alliminum after 20mins of sanding. No filler, just tick primer and lacker. This maybe different with the next 3 (hope not) fingures crossed.

I used 80 grit household sand paper as my moms currently doing some DIY so I pinched it and continued with the 1200 grit I had left over from my steels. Polished with abit of auto gylm super resin as its the only polish my dad uses ahaha.

That result got me thinking about my plans so I moved on with a recommendation of using se nitromoors paint stripper. Long story short, I got it tryed it and wasn't really that impressed with the result after leaving it longer that recommended on the pack. Bit anoyed I took a screw driver to the paint to scrape it all the weak bits off. I sore metal!! After caring on and doing the whole lip I got out some 120 grit sand paper and gave it a blast.

The result made me wonder "what Is going on" as all the primer just seamed to fill out and do nothing.

This is the result. Not to happy as it was a lot of messing about. By this time it was getting late and called it a night at 10, just slapped abit more nitromoors on before I tooked her back up to bed. See what it in tails in the morning.

Tyres shall be getting striped off on Monday and the best kept. Might try the DIY electric sander on the alloy if it doesn't go well.

Day 3 of the first wheel went well, it was a nice relaxing night in the garage, after 1 of those days you wish you never got out of bed.

Free Overtime and falling off my bike due to them stupid footasylum bags, messed my bike!! :(.

I got a delivery of my spair lights off eBay today, £40 and they are mint, came with all clips and builbs. Put them on and the weekend will bring a trip to BNQ and halfords to sort out the fail of my all red lights that are now orange.

Garage time!! Put tunes on so I cracked on. I was glad to see the nitromoors doing its job as all the paint/primer was nice and soft. Got about removing it from the lips of the wheel. Got most of it off and attacked with 60 grit deremel pad (using hands tho) and that chewed up the metal. Hit it with 120 grit after and it made it a whole lot better. Jumped straight to the 1200 grit and it was a mistake, the lips didn't look to good after a bit of polish due to the Deap lines and groves. Probably going to try 800 then 1200 at the weekend. May invest in a quicker way to strip the paint or just leave some nitromoors on over my holiday.

Sprayed some black left off my steels on and watched the nitromoors eat it:).

In this picture you can see the groves left after polished. So whats the thoughts??

Don't let the nitromoors dry. Did you not read the instructions? As soon as its dry, its practically like paint again.

Best thing is to go over the wheel with some coarse paper, 120-240 to rough the surface, apply lots of nitromoors, leave 10-20 minutes, agitate with a stiff brush, adding more if you want. Rinse off, and repeat. When I did mine, the alloy reacted with the nitormoors and corroded, leaving a very tough layer to get through with sand paper. IMO 120 is a little coarse if your not removing damage/heavy corrosion. You should really be able to start at 500-600 if the metal is in good condition

Knew I was doing something wrong. First time for everything I Supose. Erm the metals perfect surprisingly, but I haven't really looked into it, just found some sandpaper in the house Ahah. Gonna get some more kit the weekend.

Day 4,

This brought a lot to do today, washed the car and the bike but the main thing was the pots, sanded down the little I had left to do and attacked the centres but I went to deep so I am trying to mend with primer. Took a trip to halfords and brought some materials and mainly a nice electric craft tool for all thoose hard areas to reach, worked awesome.

In the middle of the prepping for paint but going mad with primer and then gonna make it nice and smooth.

Worked on the centre cap, masked up and sprayed, looks clean and simple.

I also managed to strip the paint off my lights as it went orange after a few weeks of them on the car.

Kinda been busy.

Well I did a bit on the pots today. Probs gonna get some filler and sort out were I've gone to Deap. So sanded it a lot smoother and got rid of the pain stopping the centre caps going on and the seat for the collor of the wheel bolt including the centre hole.

Whilst doing that I left this to dry and it's came out okish.

Going to do the back centre of the badge to when I can be bothered aha,

Well today's my last day till I go holidays tomorrow. I thought I would give the polo some more love.

Yesterday brought the strip off of the tyres off the pots :) ready and waiting for me now.

Went for spray again Ahah! I had done it but they went orange so I put some nitramoors on them, (wouldn't recommend) and then ruffed them up and sprayed again, then left for about 3 weeks and clear coated them, waiting 48hours before each coat and then left them for a week. Polished and fitted. best thIng is they are legal!!!!

So I've done 2000 odd miles since the 31st of August. Hmmm .

Nothing has been done to the polo,

Blew the amp for my sub a few weeks after driving and was enjoying it without for a while but she's back,

Got a new sticker because I keep getting flashed, done it on L plates so why stop know?

She's getting some more love soon with a top end engine rebuild hopefully, she runs like a dream but seams to like oil! No visible smoke or smell, only assume it is the piston rings and valve stems are causing her to burn, she only does it in the high rev range, under high stress.

Other than that she's still standard ;D and I love it!!

Only polo I know that can set off car alarms from 3 streets away ;P

P.s - the pots are gone to make some money towards the rebuild, then the rest on a oil change and a propper spring clean!!

Gave her a wash today

Looks nice mate, quite similar to how mine is at the moment.

Need to get a sub and amp sorted next month!

I'd get them this month but need to get my steelies looking presentable and some new brake disks/pads
