looks so nice on them wheels

get the paint sorted and its a winner :D

I think it looks nice too :-) .. cant wait for the other wheels to go on as well, just dont wanna rush it.

Paint will come, Hopefully....

Yeah mine scrapes like on every hill but it's riveted and bolted on so I dont think it will ever come off

Do you used a micra jack? Where did you get it from cause mine doesn't really go under my car anymore :(

It came from my mum's boot ... I'm sure any low scissor jack would do the job.

i need to get a impact gun to make it quick and easy 8-)

I have to use 1.5" wood planks now, just to get the micra jack under.. Oh well all in the name of lows.

Edition is on the April 22nd. Isnt Polo Show in July?

Thanks man :)... Yeah Yeah, i tried... I might chop up the subframe to give me abit of clearance when its worn down..

Just like Rich's wishbone mounts.

  • Author

I messaged Scott about it he gave me a vague description of what he did...

Basically it's what Rich got done to his mount's... and more

8-)

What's the wheel size and tyre size on this?

I'm running 15" Bathurst (lupo GTI) alloys and need it lower!

Bet your happy now Rich? :)

Does any one else that has 6n ever noticed that the driver side wheel sticks out more?

Its rubbing on that side when i turn, Flexing the arch. the passenger side is fine lots of clearance :?

Or is my tracking wacked out?

Any more opinions on this would be appreciated.

Camber/subframe alignment

  • Author

Will do that soon as...

I'm thinking 3degrees Camber on the front and shims on the rear...

Might give me more clearance when i turn... Then i will drop it 5mm or so

Bodywork on an old car isn't really anything to go by either

  • Author

Probably you know, and i know that wing's been changed before...Very plausible

I just don't wanna butcher the arches more...

All a work in progress.

Harris (Nick?), I'm sure you got 2 degrees camber on the front? (I will check your thread n see how it looks)

Yes I'm happy :p

Take your wheel and top mount of the coilover off so you can move the hub around freely, and push the top of your brake towards the car as much as you can for max camberzzz!

That's what I've done on mine

  • Author

Yeah i will do it, Just not that simple I've elongated the top hole for more camber than usual... Just incase i need it

Like so.. Just not as pretty

ee24c326.jpg

I'm gonna need a camber gauge..

I have 2 degrees and 30 mins. So -2.5 degrees,

You can get adjustment on the slots for bottom ball joint to.

Use a straight edge on rim & spirit level app haha, make sure you're on FLAT LEVEL ground, and you're satisfied with ride heights.

I didn't make much effort to my geometry, equalled casters up by moving the subframe and adjusted camber and toe, could do fettling to get it perfect.

A lot of vehicle specs have a pull index in them. To make the car drive straight on UK roads due to the camber falling away :)

& yes it's nick haha

Thanks for the info.. the only problem is i don't have a smartphone :?

I have one these splitters in my shed, Should i lob it on or go for GTI one..

Thoughts?....

Not a fan of those splitters myself.

Maybe try something completely different??

  • Author

Hmmm Kinda broke at the mo.. Got MOT, Tax and Insurance to pay for...

I will fit it and see how i feel about it.. it will probably shatter or something..

Free Mods :)

Thinking about going about fitting a cupra splitter on mine (the newer style) underneath the Gti one, but as you said it'd probably shatter on your car

I'd fit it if you have it, might aswel.
