hi I'm thinking of selling my mk2 breadvan as i fancy something faster!

its a mars red 1.0 c 4 speed 1989 on a 'G' it is a single light grill example and has only covered 40,800 miles from new (will rise as its my daily driver)

it has 6 months tax and 12 months mot (no advisories! :))

it has had new brake pads fitted and a brand new fuel tank, i have had to cut part of the sill out because the leaking fuel rotted it away, i welded a new plate in and hammerited both sills black (looks brilliant red on black)

the car is fully original apart from the panasonic pop off head unit and alpine speakers where the originals were

it has an original AA badge on the front grill, tyres have great tread including spare, interior is immaculate!!

looking for about £800 ono will swap or p/x for something quicker

i believe its fairly easy to stick a five speed box on it

£35!!!! get a 1.4tdi £10 = 100 miles and 110bhp with a remap

thats when the tank was leaking :)(was parked on kerb) I'm not sure what it does now probs about 35-40 mpg

yeh its running similar now just had it serviced and a brand new (non leaky) tank. it was like a collinder!!

Fully understand mate, it used to pi$$ me off and i was only paying £250 as apposed to just over £100 if it was a standard 1043.

But thats one of the benefits of getting old i suppose. (can't think of any other benefits mind)

No not yet, but I can't imagine it being more than a few hundred.

I was quoted £600 for a modified 1.9td caddy pickup, so I just don't know why this (the GT saloon) is so much. I think insurance companies frown upon an engine swap to be honest.

Haha, maybe. I don't need a new car, I'm just bored of my current one. (had it almost 4 years now). Cheap as chips insurance even when I was still a teen haha.

The catch is that I might be starting a new job in Lincoln in a few weeks, so I need something that can cope with a 2 hour drive twice a week :/

small rust spot on drivers door, usual slight corrosion on inner front wings which is very common (sounds worse than it is) aerial snapped off by some chavs only a few quid to replace happened yesterday!! i'll get those pics up tomorrow
