Was driving up the A34 past Oxford on saturday and there was this gold halfords special saxo in front of me, holding me up to say the least!!!

Anyway, whilst I was following him I thought it was kind of strange that I could see in his drivers window. Then I noticed how the two rear wheels were pointing slightly left, while the two fronts were pointing god knows which way!!! Different camber on each wheel

The car was crabbing along like it was built in scrapheap challenge.

Seriously dangerous.

The car looked so unsteady, weaving and twitchy.

Of course when I got past him he was sitting in sparco buckets wit his fine bitch beside him (not really, the sight of her made me sick a little in my mouth!!!!). Total scum.

One bloke moaned that his car was falling to bits, made all sorts of noise, and that it was just generally a heap of shit.

I asked him to show me what had fallen off? He went to the boot and pulled out the scored rainbow-blue remains of a brake pad back plate - the friction lining long gone.

I said it's a heap of shit because you've been a prat and driven it into the ground with no maintanence, and you should be banned from owning a car if you're gonna vandalise it.

I didn't get his custom. But then, he wasn't gonna get mine.

Few weeks ago when it started getting right cold and icey there was this old in a Nissan, It had a rear flat tyre and was so bad, The old guy just kept driving playing loud music!

We had a Vauxhall Astra in last year. Customer complained that it was changing lanes when he accelerated and decelerated. And constantly correcting with the wheel. Got it on the 4 post ramp and saw that it was two cars **tack welded** together. Not even properly welded. Turns out he bought the car from the dodgy foreigners in the garage next door, so he took it back.

Had an Audi A3 in at work that had been shunted up the rear. Once we'd repaired it, and fitted it back up, we came to check the rear lights to find there were no brake lights due to an in-operative brakelight switch. I'm not surprised it got hit up the rear; the poor guy following didn't even know it was stopping!

That just reminded me of a ridiculously dim thing i did on my white MK3 not long after i got it. I took the tailights out to spray tint the indicator/ reverse red. When i'd finished i bolted them back in. Went to work at 5 next morning, and it was dark. Noticed when i was almost at work the boot was lighting up. Thought WTF!? Got out to look and every part of the cluster was lighting up. I hadnt re fitted the bulb holders and they were just hanging there lighting up all the lights dim, and bright when i braked :lol:

not seen any cut and shuts for a few years as older cars are just not worth chopping in half and welding together and the newer cars get written off or repaired by the insurers.

had a Bora come in this week and both bottom arms were fucked...one bolt was missing on the drivers side and the passenger sides had snapped and a piece was missing.

we rang him and told him to get the reply "i know its been like that for the last few weeks".

These people should be shot or deported

I work for a UHP specialist in Cheshire, so my pet hate is bald tyres.

Newer BMW's have alignment issues (camber related usually) where they wear the very inside edge of the tyre, exposing cord, but leaving 6mm across the rest of the tread.

Had a lady in the other day in 60 plate Disco, complaining about a vibration and the car veering off to one side as shes driving. I inspected the vehicle and was shocked at what I saw. All 4 tyres where through to canvas, beyond bald. Told her the good news to which she not happy about, I had the tyres in and did a very good price as I knew it was going to be a shock being told she needed 4 tyres. She declined and just drove off. Felt like phoning the police as in nearly 10 years of being in this game had I seen that. Shocking.

Fair enough not everyone will know the legal requirements (even though IMO you should know it) its obvious you shouldnt be driving on tyres with white fluff showing....

sorry for big rant but it really grinds my gears.

There's a user on here who's running wrong center bore alloy wheels with the wrong size spigot rings bodged with electrical tape and the wrong pcd (4x98) using standard wheel bolts. Apparently it "wobbles a little bit over 60" but its ok because they don't drive fast very often.

Their excuse is they couldn't afford wobble bolts but have just bought some nice new camber adjusting top mounts from philj. Nice to see they have their priorities right

having run my revos for about 4 months now with extended bolts and spacers id say get a stud conversion with the right nuts, the bolts i am using arent right and the wheels do wobble at between 45 and 55mph, but I've not died and they dont come loose or anything, up to you really

I was behind 4 cars last night on my way home. The first had a brake light out. The second, a new beetle cab, had an earth fault, so when she braked the right taillight went out and only the left brakelight came on, the third had one brakelight and a high level that flickered on and off, and the fourth had only one brakelight. So 4 out of 4 cars i was behind, in a short (15 minute) journey, had defective lights. Also saw several with headlights out, and a 60 plate jag, with only one of its LED strips working. If i was a policeman i would have given alot of tickets

I followed a Megane home the other night and it's back lights were like a nightclub.

Passenger rear didn't work at all.

3rd brake light did.

But on the drivers side when they braked the indicator lit up and when the indicator went on the brake light started flashing and the 3rd brake light flickered to fuck.

Oh and it had one reg. plate light out.

But it's French...so it makes sense really.

oh hi still going strong, and i am running spigots and hubcentric spacers and the bolts i am using aren't standard vw alloy wheel bolts they are tapered extended bolts so they are the right length but not flat like normal revo bolts but the bolts are tight and are obviously holding the wheels on properly

when i fitted them they wobbled but then i got new tyres and had them balanced, they were then completely fine for 2 and a half months but now they wobble a bit again, a weight has probably come off a wheel

just because they haven't fallen off yet, doesn't mean they aren't going to. Tbh I think it's downright reckless of you, all for the sake of £40 worth of bolts. Basically what your saying is that you don't give a fuck about any of your fellow road users. I couldn't give two shits if you crashed and injured yourself due to your shonky wheel fitment, thats your look-out, but putting other people at risk is out of order (no matter how much you claim they are safe, they aren't).

I know right! I dont care if you get hurt out of your own stupidly, but if your stupidness injured someone else, or someone I know, thats not fair is it really? You could wreck someone elses life because your too tight to buy some bolts, take your car off the road and get your priorities sorted
