With regards to the insurance thing, my boyfriend had an open non fault claim & when I added him to my policy they could see that and charged me extra for the privelege?

Really sorry about your polo - that has taken such a smash! there are some dishonest people and lets hope they get their comeuppance for it.

i'm absolutely gutted for you mate, that must of been a horrible moment finding that, i can't imagine what i'd feel like if i found my polo smashed up by someone else.

It would still be good to put an add for info in the newspaper or something, even if its just to know that if they see it they'll be worried for a bit.

As for repairing it, it is possible, if it was a new car it would be repaired, however the cost of the work will more than outweigh the value of an old polo. It will need the c-pillar jigging out or replaced, if you can do the work yourself then its worth a crack, it will be scrap otherwise anyway.

However being realistic the answer is to re-shell it or buy another whole polo, it is a shame though because i think thats that rare shade of green?

i am stil unsure what to do with her yet, I'm based in rotherham area, i never even thought about re-shelling her! if anyone has any shells close-ish around send me a pm and a few pics or ill pm you, I've got access to a garage with plenty of tools in, me n my m8 can change/fix almost anything VW, so we could give it a try. it wont be until easter now until i get hands on her and fully assess the whole car.

The police are useless,

A guy lives opposite me, was leaning in his drivers door the other day to get something out his car - road side.

Some woman was driving down the road, hit his door and folded it round to the bonnet! Nearly taking out his legs! And just drove off! He got most the reg and a description of the car, the police would not do fuck all as it wasn't a full reg!

So another person has to shell out/claim for someone else's dishonesty!

I'm sure you'll be able to pick up a good donor shell, and I'd you won't be doing the swap til Easter it gives you time to find one, £10 here for shell fundage
