There aren't many older polo's about nowadays, not as there were 4 or 5 years ago, you'd think people would just appreciate that there's a bit more out there on them because of this, whether it's because I have a fangita or not! :p

People complain that mags only feature feature cars that have had huge amount of money spent on it so much much so that you can't actually tell what car it is. Buwhen they feature a car that hasn't and looks rather standard people also complain. It may look standardish but if you look through the build thread the car has has some time and attention given to it.

Yes this feature was about female car modders and guess what Becca is a female car modder. Personally I like the car (not too much fan of the stickers) but I liked the car it's self better than a lot of the other cars in the mag that had thousands spent on it.

So can we please just appreciate that a fellow polo owner has had a feature in a Mag! Tar...

Well I buy ppc every month which mostly features cars built by 30 something blokes with a little too much weight and not enough hair, so yeah I would still buy a car mag with fat men in as I'm buying it for the features on the car not the owner

Becca I don't see what your getting so emotional over, you said yourself it was featured because you are a girl (its an all girl issue afterall), and you say you have to use what your given (in this case showing off some leg ect). Which is what I was saying in my first post

I do agree it was probably a bigger feature because I have a vagina. BUT it's a feature either way and I don't see why people are getting worked up [jealous?] over the fact that I got one with a standard-engined car, and they didn't.

Maybe I go to more cruises and meets and was just lucky and got spotted? And the fact that I was a girl also helped.

Because they were taking pictures of my car when I walked back to it already, before they knew I was a girl. It probably also helped that it was Lee at the cruise and he had a Polo too.

I don't think its a case of you getting a four page spread because your in all the photos with the car. Your hardly draped across it in next to nothing like most features with girls in the photos.

Should be proud of what you've built and the fact that its getting recognition is a bonus. Ignore the negative comments.

Thanks :p stickers were a bit of a laugh when i started it - then everyone else got well into it and it kind of ruined it for me, will take the windows out eventually and put the plain ones back in I think.

And as for the sleeper part... well it hopefully will be when I can get my hands on the right engine.

In my dreams I'd have a 1.5vti civic engine in there but too much work realistically with all the hubs, wiring looms, brakes and making it fit!

Might just keep it simple and do a 1.3 gt bike carb jobby - will always dream of vtec power in a polo though hahaha!

Haha well... it's more a time issue than a money issue as I know enough people who could help me out with stuff but then I'd need another daily car - and the money to insure the Polo when it's done. Think it would be a nice amount of power though a 1.5 [nice sound too :p]

Its like all those people pushing subarus and the like in the back of a beetle. I have no shame in converting mine to watercooled, 50hp 1.6l carb Beetle engine vs an out of the factory 112hp for the VW T3 2.1l engine then add some more gains with electric water pumps, Megasquirt and some throttle bodies and some black magic on the inside.

I think VTEC might be a pipe dream but a GT engine with better breathing, ITBs and Megasquirt can make noticable gains once you. I picked up some 36mm double barrel bike bodies for £65 off the bay a while back, the MS was £130 off Volkszone and the peripheral wiring upgrades are for nothing. You can run those off the stock dissy or swap out proper solid state ignition at a later date

Yeah deffo a pipe dream haha but maybe one day when I have a well paid job and a garage and a couple of years to spend time on it... I think I'll have this car forever unless something awful were to happen!

GT is my ideal, when I first got the car my plan was G40 but they're just a lot more hassle to look after, and to throw money at to keep them in check, where I think you could easily get the same / similar power out of a GT if not more!

These Polo's are awesome because they're so light too! 6N 1.2s struggle to keep up on motorway convoys because they're just so much heavier.

My parents have a 1l 6n2 which suffered the gearbox bearing problem that they all do, even after VW main dealer having it fore very service and MOT for its entire life. After the £700 odd bill a few years back when I still had my 'loon and the 6n2 had done less than 40k miles they were very close to selling it and getting a 2f. Ended up keeping it and changing to the local garage to maintain it. Its been fault after fault ever since, nothing expensive but a pain in the arse.
