Playing around with ratios with what boxes i have, the 1.4 gears with the 1.6 final drive......125mph in 3rd hahaha

Ok so my idea of 1.6 box with 1.4 final drive gives the same ratios as a DSP which is 1.4 74kw (I assume the 100hp AFH)

Maybe ill just look out for one of them

Proves how much you read my posts! It's no big secret that i've been running a 6k 1.6 saloon gearbox with 6n 1.4 5th gearset giving me a 4+E set-up, and for like ages (couple of years in the coupe, then the last year in the valver). I've hoared it out here countless times..

4th was only good for 100mph real terms, but then the revs would plummet to 4k when put into 5th at that speed, theoretically of course.. I've just scrapped it as it was smashed clean apart in the crash.

I might be interested in your 1.6 unit if you're not gonna use it, i'm in no hurry so i don't have a premium price for it but i'll look out for one as it's my style as a spare.

The second of those pdf's contain the 6n2 gearbox's that are show as fitted to the 6n2 according to elsawin

It was a '98 AEE. Medium gearing, think it was short gears with a 3.5 final drive but i dunno, couldn't ever read the code on it.

Thing is mine being heavier than yours is maybe need shorter gears I'm not too sure!

Third is LONG then 4th and 5th are quite close together

Currently on limiter (7750) I get (indicated)

1st - 37ish

2nd - 65

3rd - 103ish

Then 4th won't pull to limiter and doesn't really get much above 110, just feel aerodynamically dead haha
