Unique Polo GT

Featured Replies

Hello guys, just wanted to know what you guys think of my GT and what i did with my time on a sunday afternoon, i personly think it should have been a optional extra from new suits the 90's feels of the car down to the ground.

The brakets for the lamps came from a unlikely sourse that is Ford RS turbo that apart from a bit of cutting bolted straight onto the slam pannel behind the bumper and the Hellas will be getting some half decent lights to go with the image.

Drop some feedback on what you guys reckon.

Had a chance to test them in the dark yet?

Not yet buddy no packed up before it got dark, erm side lights are standard side lights erm dipped/main are 6000k HID's (bright white) instead of 8000k that horrible tacky bright blue look you see. erm another niggly thing to the spot lamps tend to wobble or vibrating if you like. Gunna perhaps put spot lamp bars on em what you see on spot lamp pods on rally cars to stop the beam bobbing up and down on the road but the car on the suspension it has wont be helping much anyway amazes me how many times i get flashed.

are they hella comet spots? if so I'm a bit jealous!

Yep they are, carnt remeber the number thats stamped on the back plastic erm we had to have a choice of two sets of spot lamps the others were older and matched the head lights however they are both hellas but the ones on the car look that bit better with the hella stamp in middle i used spare pair from my dads series one turbo. The brackets are mk3 escort n all

They suit your numberplate! :thumbsup::lol:

Yer i been there and done it...... :paranoid: it dosent go down well let me tell you unless the road is like a duck pond. I love the plate one of the reasons for buying it, dont really wanna let it go but i was considering it for a very nice example g40.

They look gash TBF mate.

Is that your old motor noshybeans?

They look gash TBF mate.

bit uncalled for. look no more gash than running 13s on a mk2 golf TBF

Entitled to your own opinions, erm if anybody knows anybody who has owned this car and has history/what they had done to it would be helpfull, from what i do know this car has travelled all over.

Any body tell me form the pics what silver this is? I've always thought it was Diamond silver however i got the wing and bootlid done and its not a perfect match wich is difficult with silver anyway and the paint is nearly 20 year old, however i looked about and found that boulevard silver is stupidly close to the original paint atsome point it had a full respray. The paint code in the boot has worn away. This why i need previous owners help in what they have done. Heres a advert on here selling it from years back.

Mines apparently L97A Diamond silver.

I think I have seen an OEM grille for the polo that puts the spots in the grille area. I know I have seen one on a Mk 3 Golf van. Looked quite good IMHO.

call that a set of spot lamp

hear are the ones i had on my car:

Well, it wasnt me, it was Briscoe, i got rid when i bought it as i don't think they suit the car at all.

Hella grill FTW :p
