front gti bumper question. help?!

hello all, I'm new to the world of cars so please excuse my what could be classed as a stupid question question but I'm after my front bumper of a silver 9n3 to look like a gti by having the middle part black. can i remove the original bumper and get the middle part sprayed black or is it best to buy a whole new bumper and get tht sprayed.?
