  • Not much happening in the world of the polo... daily driven and giving people abuse sounds about right though. Just a few random flicks I've taken/ come across over the past few days/ weeks Lack

Shame! More and more low polos dieing! Only randall left! Jonnys isent daily and Toms a gay....

It is a daily homo!

Just the daily travels to work is 1 mile so i fixie it

Finally sold the Grid v's this morning to a nice chap called luke, should take care of them. Handed over the cash and went straight to saveontyres and bought some part worns for the steels!!

Then popped over to eurocar parts to pick up quite a few things i had ordered which needed doing for the mot and a few things which could do with being replaced etc...!!

Tyres and goodies picked up and i thought ...heck why not. i want new tools.

so bought a new socket set while i was in the area :)

Got half way through things today and decided to call it a day due to work at 5pm.

will continue with everything else tomorrow when i have more time free.

Another productive day today getting a few things done with the help of Joe and Mike.

New bottom ball joints, brake discs and pads, bleed the system and put in some new fluid, removed the rear/front camber and put the helpers back in on all corners and raised the car a little bit. Drives so much nicer now, just need to get the tracking done again.

Also bought a new Dashboard off ebay this morning which should be here wednesday so will be fitting that ASAP with the help of a few people hopefully!!!... but a few things coming together now, just gotta drain the sump and put 4L back in and change over the fuel filter then put it in for an MOT and hope it doesnt fail on anything stupid!!

Once it passes ill move onto the body work and start prepping and re-moulding arches.

Doing all this work is giving me doubts about selling the car...

contemplating keeping it and going oem+... but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Lemme know how much of an arse it is to take the dash out man, i need to take mine out i've just been lazy.

I took my dash out to change my loom for my gti swap. I did it with the help of my Vw mechanic friend and some repair instructions from Vw. It's not too bad on the removal, just your standard million torx/screws/bolts holding everything in. You also need to take the scuttle panel and wiper motor etc out to get at a couple of bolt holding it in from the outside.

The refit is quite tricky as some bits need to be fitted before other and it's a ballache fitting bits which you then realise half an hour later need taken off again to get another bit in.....

All in all not too bad. Just take your time and remember where everything goes :D

Upper centre console, can it stay in whilst removing the dash? i think i can probably get to the screws from the hole in the middle of it. Just need to know if I'm gonna have to resmooth my dash after i've taken it out...

  • Author

Erm, i think it can stay in - although not 100% sure, it might be attached to something. cant remember though

sweet, that can be another job to go on the list for my day off then!
