GTI inlet, injectors fitted

AFH throttle body to be fitted

MegaSquirt ECU wiring in process and some interior mods on the way

Been up to the unit and found all my old 6n2 bits

Gonna fitted the 6n2 centre console

Fits alright but requires some fettling

Having the heater controls further down allows room for a head unit and guages

Also found some 6n2 front running gear

Driveshaft, hubs, calipers ect

Gonna try fit these once the engine mods are complete, should be quite a challenge because of the difference in wishbones, anti-roll bar ect

Just been toying with the idea in my head but when it comes round to it i'll see if it will work

Waiting on a k&n cone filter to come

Need to finish the wiring

Then get tuning

I'd stick with JUST buying and reading the Haynes..... no actual doing.

Just fuel setup for now, keeping the vac advance dizzy but gonna get the advance curve tuned once.

Going to map it myself to get a decent base map for someone to then tune up a bit more on a rolling road

haha because there has been no work in far to long.

The tax ran out so i had to get it off the road halfway through the install, moved it to a mates lock up but had to help him finish his car before i could get mine inside.

Also bought a gt for a run around and been tidying that put a little bit.

Its so shit stopping something halfway through, can't remember what i've got or where all my parts are ect.

Only managed to get in a unit now so i can get proper stuck in, there's not much to do the map is pretty much done using air temp, throttle body, and map sensor.

Once i have the water temp sensor fitted i can polish the map off.

Started a list of jobs to do today and it just started getting longer and longer because there is so much i want to do.

First things are to:

Fit new thermostat housing and thermostat

Fit water temp sensor

Tidy up engine bay and interior wiring

Sort a decent exhaust out including decat

Sort some wheels out

256 front brake upgrade

Not sure tbh it was the first thing I bought got it second hand off someone on here.

Got a bit more done on this now it's in the unit, everything was wired in but I was getting a lot of noise which caused fault temp readings whist cranking.

I've redone all the wiring properly now and all readings are fine and the wiring is a lot neater.

Tried to fire the engine up, got spark, got fuel, ignition and cam timing are correct.

But no combustion, need to play with the cranking pulse widths and get a bit advice on tuning.

Hopefully get it running tomorrow.

Need to change locks over to my new doors.

Fit new bonnet and wings.

Then get brakes and new windscreen fitted.

Cant wait for it to be running, I know your sending me info but could you put 6n clocks in one of these or still use mk3 gt ones

Don't think 6n clocks would fit in a mk3 tbh but i don't know because i've never tried

That is a MK2 Polo surround, need to cut it a fair bit and i have got stuck on what to replace the clear plastic clock front with.

Not alot yet. Stripped some of it but its a mass of wires still to get through (I'm using as much 6N wiring as i can), I want working VAGcom so need the clocks as well really for warning lights and i suppose mileage.

Might have a better answer (And probably make a FAQ) about this in a month or so.

16v Wheels fitted.

New dent and rust free doors and wings fitted.

All ms ecu wiring redone.

New chassis earths fitted.

All sensor readings are good now and don't jump around when cranking.

Just need to make up some new handbrake cables now and fit new rear brake pipes.

Next thing is to fix the rust where the windscreen seal sits and fit a new windscreen.

Also add fuel and get the damn thing running, not even tried as i've been fitting other parts.

Hard to get work done when working long hours and trying to get college work done!

Also started making my own digital lambda gauge for the dash.

Sick work kid

Started tuning the ecu and the bloody thing died on me, it wouldn't power up at all!

Sent that back and should received back this week, engine idle and warmup has been tuned just need to finish off the main fueling map.

Rust removed, new corner pieces welded in for windscreen, area painted and windscreen has been refitted.

Rusty area replaced a painted, very nice colour match ended up with a line where the area had been masked but this buffed out nicely.

Jobs to do-

Rear brakes pipes and hand brakes cables

Finish tuning

Little bits of interior need fixing up

Then its MOT time

Can drive it down and collect this block now lol

Yeah man hopefully soon!

I want that block to start building the next engine for it.
