If you're over 16 you can walk into a shop and buy an airgun...but you can't buy

them mail order anymore. The law was changed in 2007 to stop mail order buying.

I've mail ordered 2 air pistols :)

There just needs to an element of face-to-face for it to be legal

Can't wait for my pistols to arrive :)

Will post a pic of them :)

Otherwise, I have a 6mm blowback bb gun :) love that little thing :)

I think you have the wrong info there, you have to be over 18y now to buy one, but you can use one younger if you are supervised by an over 18y

Was about add that too,

Gotta be over 18, unless supervised by an adult

If it was 16, think of all the shitty kids with air rifles :o

I'm a qualified NSRA Air Rifle Instructor. I also used to do pest control, normally using shotguns, I don't hold any of those or my shotgun permit anymore.

My knocking-about iron sights gun is a Baikel (actually a rather good gun for what they cost, bit clunky in use, but suprisingly accurate). My better gun is a BSA Lightning. I also hold a cheapo gas pistol, which I used to carry as a backup in case I ever shot anything that I didn't kill outright.

I definitely dont have a modified walther CP99....

Hehehe, yes, my gas pistol definately hasn't been modified either, nor is it a bloody good replica of a PPK, not that I've ever handled a real PPK so I definately wouldn't know what one looks and feels like.

I'm not sure if my walther which i dont own should be licensed or not? Since it comes under "realistic imitation firearms"

I really should read what i type...i did mean to type 18 and not 16

Are'nt those the ones that are easily converted to fire "real" rounds 8-)

I have two reasonably accurate BB guns purchased before the laws changed regarding the ownership of them and they aren't the kind to be used indoors anyone know the law regarding those? I used to go airsofting so as you'd imagine they are quite large guns. ones an uprated spring loaded L85A1 with upgraded sights by umarex and the other a M249 LMG by Star 2500 box mag FTW!

There's no requimrent to licence a firearm, be it imitation or otherwise based solely on it's appearance - but there are obvious restrictions on where and how it can be used and carried. Licencing is based on the principle of operation, bore and muzzle velocity. If it's air or gas-powered, single-shot, .177 or .22 and under 12 ft lb then it's pretty much definately legal.

I've got a few:

Rifle: SMK20m with a camo scope, cheap but packs a punch and is pretty accurate.

Airpistols: Gamo P-25 tactical, Silencer (acts as an extended barrel) Rail and red dot scope, fires about 500fps iirc, pellet too!

Cheap Crossman pistol, all plastic - But plastic means easy modding , Hammer Sping Pulled right back, Its stupid loud and dangerous, need to get this thing crono'd, must be hitting 700-800fps.

And my favorite is my new Tanfoglio witness 1911 (colt 1911), Its so imense. Full metal blowback with slide catch when empty. Loading a mag and pulling the slide sounds so awsome, about 350fps i think.

That thing looks mean. I've been toying with the idea of applying for a (real) gun licence just to see if I could actually be granted one.

The legal limit for non FAC Air Rifles in the UK is 12ftlbs...the ENJUIN SUMATRA .25 is 85ftlbs.

They hunt Deer,Goats and Pigs and just about anything that moves with that gun in America and New Zealand

Had a bit of fun with my rifle today, mega long distance shots ftw. took me like 50 shots to hit a 200yard target with mild wind, had to aim silly high.

Plus it was a Can of Mrsheen, BOOM! Tishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
