6n and 6n2 coilover compatibility and top mount issue

I've recently bought a set of fk konigsport coilovers for my 6n2 1.6 16 v gti. the coilover kit was originaly off a 6n polo gti so obviously the front suspension top mounts and springs are different, I've read god knows how many posts on here about the 6n and 6n2 front springs being different to each other and how the top mounts are different with people saying how 6n and 6n2 front suspension is not compatible because of these factors, well 6n is compatible with 6n2`s as i have just fitted 6n coilovers on my 6n2, if you have a 6n2 and are thinking of buying second hand 6n coilovers buy some uprated non adjustable front top mounts from compbrake, these top mounts are just over £200 and make the 6n coilovers fit perfectly on the 6n2. if your buying new coilovers yes do buy the right ones for the vehicle your putting them on as the springs are different on the 6n and 6n2 but if you can save £350 like i did on a £652.99 set of coilovers then £205 spent on a set of uprated top mounts still saves you £145. the fk konigsport coilovers i bought for £300 had only been on the guy i bought them off`s car a short time and are the best part of new as they could be, i wouldnt myself buy a set of cheep coilovers with no bound and rebound adjustment just to get lower ride height as cheap coilovers are exactly what the price is :- cheap!! i was lucky enough to get a bargain as i would have spent £652.99 on a set of new fk konigsport`s or £670 on a set of spax rsx`s just to have bound and rebound adjustment, i fitted coilovers as i run bbs rm`s 8.5" rear and 8" front on my 6n2 which rubbed the arches with the standard dampers and 30mm lowering springs being to bouncy, the car handles perfectly now with the fk konigsport`s and theres absolutly no rubbing of the tyres on the arches, anyway i hope this bit of advice helps someone :)
