I dont have to worry usually leave my car unlocked too haha and even left the keys in a few times.

A former neighbour of mine did this all the time, he parked the car on the grass verge on a bypass next to the house too. It got stolen... Three times. It probably would have happened more but the third time it was found making brutal love to a lamppost.

It's generally sweet around here, the kids know everyone anyway..

There was an episode a few years ago with a duo armed with a maglite and scooter, but they did the area and either moved on or got battered.. Either way, it was a short lived problem.

Sweet my arse, my cars been broken into twice, my mate had his audio nicked out of his 6n2, another mate had his corrado nicked and one of his mates had his mk1 golf nicked....

MK's a Chav ridden crap hole :/

The funny thing is my car never got broken into where I live, always seems to be when I'm somehwere else in MK lol :(

I got heckled by chavvy youths outside Richs house once. Annoyingly there advice was good and resolved the issue.

on this note.

someone has tired to nick my door inserts and has snaped one clean in half :x !

Just why do it :?

The middle of nowhere is the best place to live.

Worst we have is drunk nippers smashing bottles in waitrose car park.

That's partly why I park away from all the cars wherever possible; Less likely that someone will walk past and it's in plain view.

It's totally the way forward, it's like a well kept secret - you don't have to drive around the car park three times looking for a space right next to the door like everyone else in the herd, or get stuck waiting for longers to park, and you help protect the car from being attacked on all levels, whether by screwdriver, panels being keyed, or being hit by neighbouring car doors or trolleys.

Not only that, you get to display your pride and joy for all to see - from admirers or just second-glancers, to witnesses and cameras.

That is, as long as you haven't allowed yourself to get so lazy you can't be doing with twenty seconds of walking ten yards to the entrance/s, or you're not in the process of getting yourself in such a state, then the outer circle in the retail car park is the way to go.

funny one this. If you had been fitting some riduculously expensive, but tatty looking running componentry ie big 4 pot brakes, coilover suspension, lsd in a new gearbox all reconned but corroded looking, then the so-called "clueless chav" would have had no interest in what you were doing as he would struggle to know enough about the part/anyone he could sell it to.

But becuase its what I'm gonna call (Max power style) ICE, there is the problem of easy to sell goods that can be enjoyed by almost anyone with any car.

Do what I do forgo "choonz" for performance upgrades. Yes you'll regret it in traffic and you'll occasionally look like a knob, but you wont have to worry so much about your car being damaged due to "some chav" nicking your shit!

this is why i love living in the middle of a council estate :)

people dont shi*t on there own doorstop, everyone knows everyone else and news travels fast so nobody bothers doing anything to the cars or houses around here :) just the surrounding areas that are at risk!

also keeping the right people at arms length is a big help ;)
