i set mine by parking on level ground and measuring to a datum point on each corner. theres about 5mm thread difference side to side on front and 10mm side to side on rear, just depends how the car sits and such.

Helpers compress to nothing on budgets, they're just for MOT purposed, they dont really act as a progressive spring as they're a low rate and collapse to nothing under the weight of the car, probably get a little bit less noise from the dampers seeing the springs just sit together
