Whipped my engine out today with a small panic half way through as one of the driveshaft bolts almost rounded off, split the gearbox which will need working on as I cant select fifth?

Also made a start on stripping the bay down, cut off the bracket for the expansion tank, removed the screws where the airbox bolts too and a few other things that arent needed in the bay anymore.

Going to be alot of fun rubbing down the bay and front end ready for me to hit it with the spray gun.

Finished painting the bay which was a nightmare all those little spaces to rub down and masking off etc but the end result makes it all worth it for me :) Its by far not a show finish just makes it look alot fresher than bubbling rust and bare metal etc. Really happy with it though just cant wait to get it all back together as I miss driving it!!

Smoothed off the bracket for the expansion tank as I'm running a top fill radiator and the bolts for the airbox as I dont need them anymore

The engine is now on its stand aswell, Ignore the silver paint I was testing a few colour schemes/options, still undecided what colours to go for possibly thinking of red bottom end, silver box and black or silver head

Please paint the steering arms and rack along with your servo housing, will give the bay the final little touch to make it look spot on, good work mate, you have done great by the looks of it :)

Thanks :) the bay was a pain in the arse boring job constantly rubbing all the paint down, but at the same time strangely enjoyed it?

Well worth it in the end though!!

Plan to get a 6n rocker hopefully as I'm not a fan of having the tabs just sitting there once you've removed the boost return pipes off of it

Engines fitted :)

Fitted the supercharger and alternator and got them all tensioned right and wired up etc then remembered that you need to fit the exhaust first so removed it all again to then find that the engine mount fouled on the 4-2-1, I couldn't get it anywhere near where its supposed to bolt to the engine. Out came the grinder to cut off part of the mount and it all went together thankfully.

Need to fit the fan cover and boost pipe, get some induction pipe to feed my air filter down the hole where the charcoal canister used to be for a cold air feed.

Top fill radiators fitted, going to get a slim line fan on soon but for now the original fan housing will do

Yeah back at mine now, if all goes to plan hopefully sending for a retest on wednesday

Lets see some pictures of your exhaust then mukka

and does it sound good?

Moved the polo back into the garage to remove the 4 branch ready to fit my cat when I pick it up tomorrow. No idea what the exhaust sounds like as Iv only heard it on idle, its quiet which is what I wanted and did give it a quick blip of throttle and gave a little rasp so looking forward to finally taking it out on the road and testing it all out :)
