Featured Replies

hi guys and girls I'm new to vw's but here's what i have so far... so i brought the car approx 2 months ago now for £800. full dealership history cambelt changed and was only on 78, 000 miles when i got it... had a full respray last year with coloured flakes added into the paint that you can only see when the suns shining on it.. so personally bargain :D all I've done so far is dropped it on coil overs 5 mm spacers on the rear and a new set of cades eros. shame the pictures dont show the flakes i havnt managed to get one picture yet !

looks good this, very simple but them wheels work really well imo

Looks sweet!! A set if 6n2 all red rears would suit it right to the ground IMO

Looks pretty tidy that mate!

I like

Looks really good, wheels suit the car, what are you are plans?

Love the colour

thanx for the comments guys glad you like it.. i do want to do that 6n2 rear light conversion but moneys just a tad tight right now not being paid on the days were meant to ect so its not looking too great at the moment financially wise...

well so far the wheels and coilovers are done. I've got a set of clear indicator lenses and need to get some for the wing but if I'm honest at the moment I'm quite liking the orange...

i want to lower the front a tad more but need to take my helper springs out to do so also i need to invest in one of those jacks that go right to the floor as my one at the moment was one of those cheap halfords jobbies so buying a new jack really next is a must. i want to do something with the interior I'm looking for either a half leather or full leather interior that will fit straight in without much messing around but i dont quite know yet what car it has to come out of. ( more research needed for sure ! )

other than that i quite like the polos how they are and with the paintjob on the car with the coloured flakes makes it a tad different too. shame i cant get a pic to be able to prove it ! ill keep trying i guess I've gotta try get it at the right angle and only when suns on it you can see the flakes....

Got a really nice car there James! I say keep the orange, I rocked the clear indicators for a while but I just kept going back to the orange!

On the topic of seats, ibiza (1996-2002) seats are a straight fit, polo 6n2 seats are straight fit, mk3 golf gti seats are straight fit on the fronts and don't require much effort to get the backs in, I've got black leather colour concept seats from mk3 golf and it didn't take long to fit the rear seats, there is a guide here if you want to check it out Golf MK3 Seat Conversion

vw king you are a star ! il keep my eyes open for something that comes up hopefully when i got some money in the bank :) and yeah i think your right with the indicators its strange because normally it would be a straight out and in the bin but in this case it kinda makes the car a bit...

so I've spoken about this paint that I've never been able to quite capture in a picture.. well tonight that changed down lakeside doing a little shopping parked the car right under one of the lights and managed it... il post some pics up and see what you think.

ok well having a little trouble uploading but il get there !

No problem! Glad to have helped a little :D it's just the ibiza cupra's too that came with half leathers but they are a direct fit.

That paint looks awesome, it's so hard to get a good shine on a white polo!

Glad your keeping the orange, I'm not sure the clear indicators would compliment your car so much! :)

cheers fella thats a great help as its my first vw and not really having known alot about them so someone like you does help loads! thanx mate its pretty kl as you only see it in the sunlight too... i think its gonna have to be one of them things to put the clears in and see wont know for sure what i prefer till i try it.

also just a quick question i went to de wiper my rear wiper the weekend but realised it goes through the body work.. is there any other ways you guys do it or i was just litterally going to stick a 2p on the back of that little black plastic plate / surround and then some fiberglass and filler work on top to make it flat and smooth then blacken it down and stick it back on .. ? or is there a simpler way you guys know of ??

No problem! Anytime! Always worth seeing what it looks like, at the end of the day it's what you prefer :p

haha there is a much simpler way... you'll need a rubber bung (can get them from halfrauds) I think the one you need is 18mm or 25mm hmm I can't remember now but you can get assorted packs..

There is a guide here too: Guide for rear wiper on a MK4 (6N) polo

There was someone selling glass wiper blanks a while back but I think he's stopped selling them now, but I just filled the hole, flatted it back, primered, painted and laquered.

:D
