96 spec Integra Type R

Featured Replies

With regret, the time has come to move on from the Integra Type R.

After 4 years of ownership I feel i have had my fill of Vtec for just now and it's time to move on and try something else.

Let me start by saying this has been the best car I have owned. I can say that with complete honesty and with a smile on my face and great memories to prove. The car has seen me cut my teeth at track days and also in the Scottish Hillclimb Championship last season, where it came 2nd in every event I entered bar one, where it finished 3rd.

I have kept this car as well as i kept my previous cars, and the car returned the favour with great reliability and trouble free driving. It has been my daily driver for the full 4 years of ownership and has covered roughly 30000 miles since being imported in 2008. I am the only UK owner.

The car has no service history, other than what can be seen in my personal thread on ITR-DC2.com, where I have been a member for 4 years, also.

I didn't list every oil and filter change on there but realistically it got an oil and filter change twice a year, and more often in 2009/2010 when I used it on track.

Gearbox was rebuilt in late 2010 by Clark Motorsport at the cost of £950. When i purchased it the main shaft bearing had collapsed due to too much in float i believe, causing terrible damage to the 5th/reverse synchro hub. I have receipts for all work and parts changed.

Since the rebuild it has been fantastic.

Other info

Air Con removed

Front bumper, splitter, wing mirrors and rear bumper all re-sprayed in last 2 years

Bad points

All cars have their bad points and i'll try and be as meticulous as possible here.

Slight surface rust on both rear arches. No bubbling but slight rust staining.

Surface rust on a small area of the drivers door

Rocker cover starting to peel slightly

Windscreen plastic trim slightly shabby

Wiper arms need a paint (I've done this 2-3 times since buying the car so will easily do it again)

Typical Integra in cabin vibrations and some rattles from the trim

Wheel Centre caps could do with a repaint (again, these have been done in my ownership and will probably do them in the next week anyway)

Some stone chips on front of bonnet

Splitter has a few scrapes on it

This car has to be seen and driven to appreciate. I believe it is a very good condition car for its age. I have looked at lots of newer cars recently and am shocked at the condition of the bodywork on them.

Test drives are welcome with relevant insurance, but I am happy to take people out in the car (some great little roads 2 minutes from my house!)

Price£5,000 ono

I believe this to be top dollar for this car, but I think the condition and spec deserves top dollar. I am negotiable on price and welcome hagglers, as i am one myself!

I have numerous spares I can negotiate into the price including a Spoon N1 backbox, Rota Slipstream wheels with used 888's and a few other bits.

Car is located on the south side of Aberdeen. I work away quite a lot but when I am home I am free most of the time.

Thanks for looking,

Stuart
