had this a couple of random times with my mk2 golf 1.3 with an 084 gearbox

driving along and go to shift from 3rd to 4th and it crunches and pops out of 4th to neutral so I have to put it back into 3rd and double declutch it into 4th then its fine

any ideas what it could be and if its anything to worry about at all or just a random thing
