eurgh, i cba to wrap manifolldddd lol!

But tbh, i cant imagine it being that. I've had it do this as soon as its warm enough for choke to come off... but its been fine when i was sat in traffic (in bloody portsmouth for over n hour lol) and its being bouncing on and off the fan...

Fuck knows what it is, temperamental as fuck :(

if i get stuck in traffic it will be fine, then after a while the revs will start dropping to the point where i think its gonna cu out so have to feather the throttle slightly. picks up again when i get moving. all f my bike carbs have had issues with it

Ah did nick balance them that time he came down? I forgot. Should be ok then.

I was under the impression they'd never been balanced. The ZXR carbs on the breadvan were never balanced, purely because i didn't have time and i had this problem.

Sometimes the idle would be rock steady at 900rpm, then an hour later it would be up at 1400rpm.

Could be an air leak, mixture set wrong. Untill you get someone who knows what they're doing to have a look, its hard to tell!

Mine occasionally likes to dip revs..AFR goes lean at this point if that helps. Difference between idle at 1000 to 950 is mad

I am considering it, but tbh i think id rather run with vac advance. Might just take dizzy off and plaster it in hammerite LOL

Need a cover, but cant find one anywhere :(

think i have a spare cover up the lock up, it's yours if you want it because its slightly melted although i think its in the sort of area you need to chop off for the vac saucer

2013 snow by B-shaw55, on Flickr

Might update this again one day

She looks well. And that's a nice photo!

How did you manage that two-tone paint job? :)

Thought it was just mine.

Did discover that the idle screw is a little loose in the hole, so wrapped a little PTFE tape around it to thicken it up a bit. Did hold a rock steady idle, but with me dicking about with it so much it starts to drop during a run. Sometimes goes up, it's weird. Go anywhere near that screw and it'll change idle, haha.

Heatsoak though, brings the idle down to like 800 and the AFR goes off the gauge. Like Eric said, feather and it comes back. Once you're on your way it's reet.

New wheels purchased, collecting at rolling road.

None of you will expect this, I guess many will be disappointed lol!!

I'll get pics as soon as they are coated and on. Will be getting the suspension calibrated again once they are on. Sure something's up as it just feels wrong. Breadvan did corners better than this :?

fixed the weird noise?

Not yet lol, probs look at it Monday round jamies. He doesn't know it yet tho lol.

whats up with the shocks?

  • Author

Don't think it's shocks related kiz, think camber might have gone out, looks slightly positive. Corner hard and it just shits itself. Can't explain it. Just not like it used to be.

Been in this properly now, it's decent man I like it, apart from the orange lol.

Interior is nice and engine does go well indeedy

8-)

Never seen so many VW's on my drive 8-)

You need to change thread title to state correct bhp figure of 128 ;)

*128hp + engine fell out y0

  • Author

lol, but 133 is correct also. 128.9 to be exact. so like 4bhp difference lol.

Lower gearbox mount has somehow come loose haha. Fucking thing

And, some nice person has scuffed my rear quarter by fuel filler. Effort to fix so its staying, battle wounds ftw. RAT LOOK INNIT

Fixed my idle problem, adjusted pilot screws and its pretty decent now.

Also, it pulls so much harder from lower down the revs, i nearly stacked it into a hedge earlier on a 3rd gear pull

Tinkering with it for n hour at a time after work for past week, just daft little things.

Slowly progressing and getting tidier :)

are the coilover issues sorted?

  • Author

I had noticed

Cleaned it day before yesterday, filthy again now.

What coilover issues?
